MSNBC reports on gun related assaults (criminal activity perhaps) and accidents (stupid people perhaps)
What a great story to start off the New Year.

As usual they have made no effort to enumerate the amount of money saved because of injuries and deaths avoided because of defensive gun uses.

Readers should remind the editorial staff of MSNBC that adding up hospital costs doesn't require any special insight or talent.  They have neglected to address the challenging part of the equation.

That's right.  When a guy breaks into your house and you shoot him, then your tax dollars pay for his recovery.

That's because most of the people that are treated for gunshot wounds have no insurance (go figure).
If we just let the criminals die, we wouldn't have this problem.

W hy don't they look at the number of individuals in car accidents who don't have their own health insurance?? The costs would be mind blowing. Problem is that the sheeple would find out they re their own enemy. Something they don't want to hear. "We have met the enemy and he is us."-Pogo.

Well, how much do auto accidents, boating accidents, household accidents, swimming pool accidents, etc, cost each year?

This is just another attempt by liberals to justify their anti-gun stance.

Well, liberals cost us hundreds of billions every year, and nobody is trying to ban them.  Most of this gun violence is as a result of their failed policies, not an availability of guns.

MSNBC=BS.

Look at their history, their staff, their location (NYC) and you will see WHY they are anti-gun...and they most certainly ARE.

NBC is rife with liberals and "progressives".  They pander to the Dems and take up any liberal cause they can.  MSNBC is the network of Perky Katie Couric, Matt Lauer, and [shock] Donahue!

A couple of days ago, Donahue had both of the above on his show and they had an hour of liberal love fest.  I cought a couple of minutes of their tripe and I was disgusted beyond belief.

Just ONCE I'd love to have them get someone like Dr. John Lott (More Guns, Less Crime) on there and try to break HIM down.  He would blow those antis into next week!  They know that and that is why they only listen with the left side of their head.

Fear not...anything from MSNBC is total garbage and not worth lending any of your time or attention.  Stick with Fox.

How much does it cost taxpayers to give free legal representation to every crackhead, rapist, mugger, burglar, car thief and gangbanger during their trials?

Of note:

* 86 percent of firearm-related injury cases were male.

* Assault accounted for 54% of cases, unintentional injuries accounted for 31% and self-inflicted injuries accounted for 8%.

* Seven percent of all firearm related cases died during hospitalization, compared to a 2.5% in-hospital death rate for all medical conditions.

* Approximately 60 percent of those sustaining firearm injuries were younger than 30 years of age.

* Firearm-related hospitalizations occurred most often on Saturdays and Sundays.

* The type of firearm most commonly implicated was a handgun, followed by shotgun and rifle.

Two questions arise - What's the difference between an assault and an unintentional injury (I know what it is, but do they?) - and, exactly how many injuries came via a rifle (very few I'm willing to bet).

Yeah, but how much can it actually cost to recover a corpse?
