I travel for work and hit a few funshops here and there.

I went in to one yesterday to look around and saw a Ruger MKII 5.5" with two mags, manuals and the box for $250.

The trigger was fantastic but the slide was gritty.

I didn't even haggle and walked out with it.

Whoever owned it before, shot it till the receiver gummed with carbon and the slide wouldn't make it into battery and sold it.

After a nice scrubbing, it's very smooth and runs like a top.

I bought a used 22/45 for $189 a while back. Still had the little round sticker Ruger puts on everything.

I found one like that. Slide wouldn't lock back after the last shot. Made a call to Ruger and was told that the external mag slide was too thin. The nice lady sent a new part. Works nicley now.

I've heard of these mythical finds on the MKIIs, first time I've ran across one.

I'm just happy I found another reasonably priced MKII.
