I just read this book "Flyboys" by James Bradley.
The author has the rare gift of being able to bring history to life.
It's very easy and enjoyable to read, similar to Ambrose.

I say this because the rest of the book was a chronicle of Japanese atrocity in WWII.
The Japs killed off 30,000,000 chinese.
Did you know that Jap samurai swords beheaded more chinese people than the number of Japs that died in Hiroshima and Nagasaki?
I cannot understand why the Japanese were given a free pass for all the horrible shit that they did in WWII. They make Hitler & Co. look like boy scouts in comparison.
The focus of the book is a TRUE story about several american flyer who were captured and beheaded near Iwo Jima.
The Japs removed their livers and leg meat and ate them as a way of showing "warrior spirit". WTF!!!
