My 8400GS is amazing.  I got a great deal on it and it's been running the game perfectly.  No lag, amazing graphics.

The big thing right now is the ATI Radeon HD 3870 X2. I don't know when exactly it comes out (probably within a month or two) but it is a dual GPU setup - so there are two GPU's on one video card (it's like having the benefits of Crossfire/SLI and only having to use one graphics card).

And then Nvidia will probably drop the GeForce 9xxx series sometime soon as well.

But even still - the current GeForce 8800 series/Radeon HD3870 are pretty good.

I thought I would have to upgrade, but my 7800GT does fine running the game at 1280x1024.

8800 GTX with 768 megs of RAM, but I bought it at the beginning of the year when there were no cheap GeForce 8 series cards available yet. Buying today I would get one of those 8800 GTs with 512 megs of RAM, can't beat those for the price and you could buy 2 and SLI them still cheaper or as cheap as one GTX.

I just bought an 8800GTS 512MB last week along with a fully system overhaul.  I beat COD4 on Tuesday evening running at 1680x1050 with all of the options cranked.  No lag at all!
