When TSA first started I bought a box of little knives off ebay for some few dollars. i still have some little Wenger and Victornox(SP?) knives, though my perspective on the TSA has certainly changed over the years.

Government-sponsored Highwaymen, the lot of 'em.

"Q.this was not bought openly on the legal market , I would have your

As a retired Inf soldier 11 Aug 2011 it looks like looks a upper part
of what we in the military call a saw weapon. the M249 please before
bubba toothless redneck buys this and maybe kills humans because they
think it is cool . please please this do not belong in private hands.
there was a reason this drug dealer had it ... TO KILL KILL his
competition (3/12/13 8:58 AM)

A: This was awarded to Maury County through the

Correct me if I am wrong, but you can't own a SAW because it was manufactured after 1984.  Is that correct?  Even with all of the "Governmental paperwork"?

I have a problem with the government seizing and reselling anything for any reason, except maybe to recoup unpaid taxes. Even then with current tax law it is a stretch. The government shouldn't be able to profit off of what is essentially theft, it just gives them incentive to seize more shit.

I wonder where the profits go, anybody know?

The local airport turns all that stuff over to the state property disposal office down in Austin.  Huge bins of crap knives for a buck apiece. I must have 15 of those little Leatherman micros.  All you have to do is dig thru the bin till you find something worthwhile.

Aren't there a very small number of pre-86 SAWs out there?

There are a few guns in the registry that some people quite possibly got the hook up on. Pre-86 only applies to peons.
