So I get a collection notice from some lawyer.
It seems that Corpus Christi wants to collect $44.20 and a plea. Because they have an "outstanding case against me." From freaking May. Which I already paid. And for which I already plead.
Way back in May, I got a ticket for going 6 mph over the limit on the highway. I sent in the money and checked "no contest, I wish to take driver safety course." You know, so my insurance rates wouldn't go up.
I wait and wait and wait for them to send me info on where to go and what to do to take the course. Nothing ever comes and I forget about the whole thing.
I seriously doubt they're going to drop the case against me (even though I already paid them the freaking money from the ticket) but how can I be assured the brain dead clerk won't fuck up AGAIN?
Right now I'm thinking big neon-colored folder that says "Don't lose me, ASSHOLE!"
Ok, this is more of a rant and not really a request for advice. CC is only an hour drive. I think maybe I should drive the check down to them in person and make them SHOW me the process of taking my name off of their fucking computer. I'll be sure to use really small words.
eta: Ok, I guess I do have a question.
Is it normal to 5 months on an "outstanding case" with no warrant filed?
