I read a news story were a guy was chatting with a coworker over g-mail about applying for a job in Europe...two days later all of his ad's were about cheap air fare and hotels in Europe... They are watching... kinda scary... That is because of the website he was on not the browser. Lots of other forums I visit will do this. You start talking about a topic and related ads will show up the next time you refresh that page. Has nothing to do with Chrome. |

Google Chrome is MUCH MUCH faster than either IE or Firefox. When I get up in the morning, I start up both FF and Chrome (FF first), and Chrome already has the page loaded before the FF window even pops up. It starts up faster, navigates faster, does everything faster. It's also less crash prone than IE or FF.
Very few websites have a problem with it. Midway USA has some weird display issues, but that's about it. Still usable, just looks a little weird, and a refresh usually fixes it. That's the only website I can think of at the moment. Chrome also has a sort of safe mode, called "incognito mode" where Chrome runs a mini-firewall, and nothing is allowed to save onto your computer - no cookies, no files, not even history. It's useful if you have to browse a questionable website and don't want to worry about a virus or something. I've heard some folks even use it for porn! Not that I would know about that. |
| I love chrome, been using it since day 1 and haven't looked back. so what if the ads become tailored to you? I kinda like getting google ads for out door stuff, have found some stores I didn't know about and some good deals. i would rather see that than "a new way to whiten teeth discovered by a mom" |

It's OK. Disable the logging so it doesn't harvest your shit for Google and use it as a secondary browser. I have it up on secondary monitor for non-work related sites, versus Firefox for the real work. How do i disable Logging???? You install firefox and use it.

| It's fast and simple, but it lacks an obscure feature I use with IE (I have IE prompt me to accept or block cookies at my discretion). If i set Chrome to block or regulate third party cookies, I can't log into this website. I'm typing this reply using IE, only because I set Chrome to regulate third party cookies. |

I use it for everything except download videos. (Unfortunately, I can't watch the movie while downloading it with Chrome, but I can with Firefox. Go figure!) ![]() I love the slim UI, as it gives me so much more window space for browsing! F11 in firefox works just fine |

Options > Under the Hood; disable "Help make Google Chrome better by automatically sending usage statistics and crash reports to Google." This should disable the ad stuff. I haven't seen any since I disabled that. |

I noticed on my programs today that Google Chrome is there. How could that be? Maybe it's there but hasn't been installed? Is that possible? It's distributed with a few things - kind of like how the yahoo searchbar etc usually is. You know, "Install this addon, Make <whatever> my homepage/default search engine" Don't just click through all the "I accept." etc options when you're installing something, It seems like everything tries to install something else these days. If it's not from something like that.. No idea. |

This is one of few sites I frequent, and as you can see I support it. ![]() |

I've been using it for a few months. It kicks every other browsers ass. This. I love it. This. As an Information Security expert......don't listen to the tin foil wearers. It does not perform any evasive methods and is not spyware. It, like many products our their via the web, can glean bits of information about your habits and sites you visit. Its called marketing. You also as a user have the responsiblity of managing what information is provided to the application vendor etc. Its no different then Microsoft. |
