I never have been a guy to use cologne, but recently I have been contemplating the idea and am wondering what--if any--cologne works for you, or more importantly if women notice/compliment you on it.

Thanks,

ARndog

Giorgio Armani: aqua di gio or something like that. My gf of the time got it for me and I must say girls LOVE the stuff.

My gf LOVES that stuff. I've tried others, but she knows when I wear it and can't get enough of it. So a big +1 on the aqua di gio.

I gets compliments when wearing Drakkar. Seems like they only notice it if you get them up close though. Like in a slow dance or something.

My GF bought be the Armani, Very Sexy for men, and something called paradise.  She likes the paridise the best.  It smell pretty good.  I'd just as soon not wear any.

The new Polo BLUE is excellent.  Tommy has a few to choose from which are good as well.  None of these are heavy or musky....which I hate.  They have a clean, refreshing smell to them and women seem to like them too.

Sorry....but Old Spice sucks.

My wife got me some Michael by Michael Kors. She likes it and it's inoffensive, so I wear it when I'm home.

I just switched cologne from the DUNE by dior.

To the Ralph Lauren Romance.

(they stopped making Dune)

It smells good, and the chicks really like it.

P-f-f-f-t! The lot of you!

Try Angel (for) Men. Try Jean Paul Gaulthier. Try Thierry Mulger.

Sorry, but they are all French.

Trust me, IF you were French wouldn't you wish to change the way you smelled?

Well, they do a very good job of it!

The main thing is to go by the Men's Cologne Counter and test out each one of these, and others, on your skin! Not on a card or something. And allow a little time to pass to see how the cologne reacts to your skin.

Only then can you make an informed judgment.

Have a Nordstroms in your area? They are very easy to deal with, indeed!

And when you buy that cologne, ask the young lady for some more samples! At Nordstroms, they give you quite a few samples that you can put to good use!

Oh, and BTW, I have tried out that trio on a bevy of young (twentysomething) ladies, all to very nice reviews.

My wife keeps buying me "Drakkar" every Christmas, so I guess it works on her...

FWIW, when I was single, it was pretty effective...  Got many comments from chicks at the bar, and sometimes resulted in... <use your imagination>

As my aftershave I use my own blend of about 8 parts witch hazel to 2 parts "Cool Spice" Skin Bracer.

But I'm out of the undiluted "Cool Spice", so when this batch is gone, I'll switch the the blue variety (whatever it's called).

I've also used Bay Rum in my blend, but Briskette doesn't like it very much.

What about you guys, what kind of perfume do you like on the ladies?

My first choice would be 'Eau de Hun', but that's not widely available.

Angel, Jean Paul Gaulthier (the bottles alone are collectibles!), and....that's about it.

I buy Angel for all my young ladies.

There's a very good reason for this, you know!

The cultural minute of the day:

The eau de cologne was invented by an italian in germany (cologne is the french name of Koln in germany).

The nephew of the inventor later came to paris.
Napoleon I was enjoying eau de cologne and especially drinking it.

SWEAT!

Seriously - a clean, but sweaty lady is (pardon the pun) HOT!!!!

Clean means good hygiene.  A dusty, dirty gal after a days hunting or work is fine by me too!

Wish my wife would hurry up and get home (if I can talk her into it).

Poison is my favorite for women. Has been since highschool. If a is girl wearing that stuff it makes me go nuts.

Sure it will -- just like a nice fluffy apron with a ruffle around it will entice the ladies!
