Email youtube and have it taken down because it violates copyright. They really will. Your picture is yours and you can prove it. One less video with that guys voice will be a blessing to us all.

Very beautiful weapon by the way, I drooled a little.

LOL thank you.

I may do that, especially if the ARFCOM hivemind reinforces my beliefs of him being a tool.

I'd like that rifle alot more if it had the standard triangular skeleton folding stock.

Nice rifle.

You're damn right!!!

Haha, in all seriousness, I wouldn't have had ANY issues if the asshole would have just taken the time to respond to my initial e-mail letting him know he used one of my pictures.

He didn't have the decency to reply, so I'm not going to have the decency to allow him to use my photos.

Thank you.

The Krebs its downright scary accurate, and the thumb safety makes all the difference in the world.  Aside from being a little slow on the reloads, it can do absolutely everything my M4 can do, but at 1/3rd of the ammunition cost...which is exactly why I bought it.  I didn't even know how rare the damn thing was when I got it, I just got lucky.

Not sure why you're surprised. If you post a picture on the Internet, and it's not watermarked, it will get used by other sources. Hell, I'd say upwards of 90% of the pictures posted on ARFcom fall into that same category. As to his credibility, I've watched plenty of his videos, and he doesn't come across as a know it all. He goes out of his way to explain his point of view and how he arrived at it, nor does he strike me as the typical Internet wind bag. He comes across as a guy who loves to camp, loves to collect knives, loves to shoot, and has some sort of fairly generic career in the military. He's never, not once, suggested he was some sort of elite ninja killing special ops bad ass. On a few occasions, I was tempted to mention his videos on ARFcom, but figured someone else would eventually do so, and all I'll add is that people can watch his videos and decide for themselves whether his opinions are worth considering.

He means well. But that doesn't mean he's not a retard. I feel bad for him. He's in the Air Force too, and yet he can't choose a uniform (he wears MARPAT, ACU, multicam, BDUs, etc) and can't seem to stop saying "tactical" and "dudes" all the time.

Who cares man, Grow up and get over it. Sounds more like you just want attention. I would probably be flattered if someone used a picture of my rifle or any other picture because they think its cool. Keep in mind if you posted those pictures on the forum most likely they are on other websites and more people then him probably have em. Who knows he could have gotten that picture from the friend he borrowed the rifle from.

Plus if you do a google search for that rifle I am sure you will eventually find your picture. Also because its posted in PUBLIC they dont have to ask for the use of your picture. Thats like I could stand on the side of the road and take a picture of your house and post it anywhere I want!

I dont remember him ever sayit was HIS picture, he just used it in his video. I say grow up and get real.......... Have you saved any pictures on your computer without asking for permission? I am sure you have. Maybe you should E-mail every single one of those people you "Stole" pictures from and asked them if its okay for you to have saved them.

Give me a break!

Fail.

Putting a work on public display does NOT mean that you relinquish the copyright. If an artist has a painting in a freely-accessible public exhibit, does that mean that he or she loses the right to control the distribution of their work, including derivatives and fascimiles? I guess if somebody lets a public gallery post one of their prints, then that means that everybody in the world can just start cranking out copies of the original print without fear of repercussions.

YOU can do whatever you want with a picture YOU took because YOU took it. You cannot, however, go take someone else's photo and plaster it around without their permission. Just the same as you could not take a painting out of some public gallery and just start hanging it whereever the hell you felt like.

Uploading photos (as well as videos and other media) using a service such as imageshack or photobucket will involve some kind of "terms of use", by which you agree to let *them* use the media that you are uploading; media which you still retain the full copyright to (assuming you made it, of course). It does not involve agreeing to release your work into the public domain, or (generally) agreeing to let them turn around and license it out to even more people.

ETA - See, if Nutnfancy had actually been present when the OP took the photos, and Nutnfancy had taken some shots of his own, he could use those all he wants, because he took them, even though it's the OP's rifle. He cannot, however, take the OP's photos and use them without permission.

Well, I'll add this. I noticed a picture that he used in one of his first aid kit videos that I recognized from somewhere else, so chances are that he's done it more than those two times. In any case, some of his gear videos are pretty informative. At least they were to me.

And apparently no real world experience to back it up.

Him and a guy called cutlerylover are the two people i go to to see what a knife actually looks like in a persons hand. I watch the videos without any sound for reasons that will become apparent if you watch any of their vids.

I tend to avoid either guys gun videos

What are you yapping about? He has plenty of camping videos where he demonstrates how the gear is being used in the field. He clearly has experience with the outdoors and the use of firearms for target, hunting, and survival purposes. I don't think for a minute that the guy is God's gift to tacticool, but he never presents himself that way either. Again, a person is only a phony if they're pretending to be something they aren't, and just what is he claiming to be other than a guy in the military who loves to camp, shoot guns, and collect knives?

18 years in the Air Force and time as a reserve police officer do not make one an authority on tactics and equipment, no matter what uniform you try to use to pass yourself off as someone else.

But he doesn't present himself as an authority, and he's always thanking his viewers for offering useful tips and info. The guy is pretty humble, and really doesn't come across as the person you're making him about to be.

I'm picking up a different vibe.

I'm also seeing little things in how he organizes his gear that tells me he doesn't actually use a lot of it beyond putting it on for a video.

is the SU16 unreliable or inaccurate? Never used one, but thought they looked neat.

Looks like he's an O-5. I'm sure he's done a lot in his career, and what he does is important, but I'm also sure that what he does has no bearing on what he talks about, and he's trying to use his "experience" as a basis for his claims/findings.
5/26/2009 9:52:22 PM EDT
[#49]
If it were my pic, in a normal situation (ie. the guy isn't making any money off the video) I wouldn't really care.

But I'm very sure this tool makes money off ad revenue from being a Youtube Partner. That's how he is able to post vids over 10min long and most people can't.

Also if this ass bag is making money off your pic then it doesn't fall under "fair use".

You can file a DMCA claim against his Youtube account if he will not edit the video. That is your pic regardless of where you posted it and you did not give consent for its use.

I dont speak AF but in the Army thats a full bird, is that what that guy is??? I subscribe to his feed and he is about 50/50 to me. Think the
opposite of what he tells you, if he said this pistol is an amazing piece combat engineering....dont buy it!
