Ok, just installed a Golden Rod in my gun cabinet. Now I know this is trivial, but will the fact that it circulates air make the silica gel packs need to be dried more often?

I figure there will be a lot more air exchange than just the idle air in the cabinet without the rod. Will the silica gel will have to suck up more moisture than usual?

Any thoughts?

No need for the silica with a golden rod it heats the air to keep down humidity

Goldenrods are good. The slighly warmer inside of the safe will mean less humidity so your desicant should remain in the pink longer. I don't use desicant anymore but went with a Goldenrod and a couple of VCI cup emitters.
