| I can't believe Silvio still hangs out with that asshole. |

Quoted: Spell his name right and get over it, it's a free country. Fuck spelling his name right. He can try to earn back my respect, but it's not going to happen so long as he's shit-talking about the Romneys out of one side of his mouth and financing his daughter's million-dollar horse fetish with the other. He, like the people he allegedly fights for, is a half-witted anachronism that represents the worst of our country and will guide it down its death spiral. The funny thing is the douchebags lining up to back him aren't enjoying multimillion dollar estates, chartered flights or show horses. They are so happy for a free scrap and a pat on the back that they don't see these pricks (Bruce and his political troupe) for the self-aggrandizing oligarchs they believe themselves to be. |

Quoted: Quoted: I don't like the mans politics but he can write a song! ![]() Yeah, nobody can write about how much America Sucks better than him. Dylan? ![]() I don't like all his stuff but he has a few gems here and there. Yes I agree the man is one of the posterchildren of the left but what can I say I like some of his stuff. Saw him once in 2003 and the E Street Band put on a great show. |

Quoted: So I take it no autographs for you? Quoted: Quoted: I've hated him for longer than any of you guys have. I went to the same grammer/HS school as he did. No body liked him back then, not even the nuns. I lived across the street from Clarence Clemmons for two years. ![]() ![]() |

Rarely saw him. He never left his basement. |

I can't figure him out musically. Apparently he (little Steven too) loves punk, sang on Mike Ness' solo album, wrote "hungry heart" for The Ramones (if Wiki is correct), but still churns out that overproduced Jersey sound crap. What the hell are those little bells I hear in his tunes? It's not as bad as recording with the Boston Philharmonic but come on.
Best description of a Boss concert I ever read was that it was like a broadway production of a rock n roll concert. |
|
Quoted:
Who cares about his politics, he's much better at music. Maybe, until he fell in love with the sound of his own voice. He put out some good songs, to be sure, but he put out some crap that was him crooning to himself, also. And, I don't care about his politics until he pushes his politics in public. Once he does that, his politics are part of his persona and he owns that. So he can reap the rewards or penalties as they accrue. |
|
I hate his politics, but I also think he is an EXTREMELY overrated musician.
I think the last straw for me was when some member entered a bruce springsteen improvised solo in the Greatest Guitar Solos thread. I know that music is subjective...but "that's a stretch" doesn't even begin to describe how I felt.

I can't believe Silvio still hangs out with that asshole. Silivo? Silvio? Really?
Silvio is a character from The Sopranos. Little Stevie = Steven Van Zandt is just as wacko if not more than Springsteen with his political views. "Personally, speaking as an Independent, I would love to see him remain as our president forever," wrote Van Zandt. "I have never been more proud or secure in traveling the globe, knowing for one of the few times in my adult life my president wasn't going to embarrass me. That he wasn't going to insult somebody. That he wasn't going to start a new war just so his vice-president's company could make more billions."

I have never understood the hype surrounding the guy. His voice sucks....but he writes brilliant depressing lyrics. He needs to hire someone else to sing his tunes.
I also can't stand how he puts his nose in politics. He should stick to music. It just serves to piss off people when he opens his yap talking politics smack. One of my old boyfriends back in the early 80's was just smitten with the guy......like going to concerts of his around the country. Oh....by the way....the ex BF is from that commie state Illinois.
