![]() I've never owned a Glock (with a Steyr and XD why bother) but I'm thinking of picking up a 9mm for the wife. I've really liked the last two guns I bought for her, so I end up with those and get to keep looking for something for her. Anyway, is there any method to their model numbers? Any way to know that a Glock XX is a sub compact in 9mm while Glock YY is a .45GAP in full size? |

numbered in order of development 17, 18, 19, 20... 39 www.glock.com/english/pistols_models.htm |

The are numbered in the order they introduced them. Which makes perfect sense, but makes it hard to remember what size and caliber the models are Would be convenient id they had done something like G17 = 9/S (9mm, standard) G19 = 9/C (9mm, compact) etc But they didn't |

When all I knew about was the 17 (I think that's all that was out at the time) this is what I thought as well. But I was a kid then. |

Here's a good visual chart to figure it out quickly. The links give the tech specs for comparison. www.teamglock.com/PistolInfo/pistolpage.htm |
Sorry, that was the first one I ever told. I thought it was funny. I own a 22 and a 36 and love them both dearly. So seriously, why start at 17? |
