Anyone here felt completely done with the current type of work they do to the point where you just said screw it, took a pay cut(start all over again), start a new type of work and feel completely liberated even though you now make less and have to start over again on the totum pole?
That's pretty much where I'm at.
I'm currently looking to get into the local phone utility company and ditch the computer consulting business that I've been in for 10 years.
I make good money now but I just can't even stand doing my job for 8 hours a day anymore.
I want stability. I want a job that I don't have to learn 5 new things everyday only to find the things I just mastered are being replaced with even newer stuff.
I just can't see myself doing what I'm doing for 20-30 more years.
I just turned 27 and I feel that if I don't get out now, I'll be almost stuck.
Having a house and family binds me to money and turn a job where I feel like I'm in prison.
No more.
