Two and a half years ago when I blew out my knee, I thought I was done. I missed being a cop and the family business isn't doing as well as I hoped .
Now, I just got picked up by a local college as a sworn officer. It's going to be weird, I wonder how long until I shake the rust off. Anyone else been out that long and got back in? |

Sorry can't help you. Once I'm out I'm NEVER going back. You are also in what is my opinion one of the worst departments in the world to work for. If you worked rural you may have observed a different side of LE, not all the time, but 9/10 times. No, I'd still leave LE as soon as possible. |
| I've been in for 11-years and plan on putting in the mandatory minimum and then getting out. My dad on the other hand got burned out and quit after about 12-years. He did his own thing and started a business for about four years before getting back into law enforcement. He seemed to jump right back in without any problems. The job will still be the job. The only difficulty will be memorizing the streets again and learning the flow of paperwork. Good luck! |
