I'm from the north and live in GA now. Georgians are bitter against the north because we think most of them are stupid. They are no free-er than most states up north. We have worse carry laws than NH, Vermont, or other northers states (with the exception of NY of course). You can't carry in a restaurants, churches, the movies, parks, or any public gathering. It's fricking ridiculous. IMO the Georgians down here could learn a think or two from any remaining freedom-loving yankees. Georgia is a police state.

WTF? We don't ACT.

But really, in all seriousness, I've never seen the point of the whole North vs. South thing.

You Georgia folks think you have it bad...LA and MS are looked upon by most northerners as another country all together, lol...

Being originally from Maine, I will call BS.  There is a night and day differance between the North and South, GA may have a few issues but at least they don't tax the living shit out me.  GA a police state, I think you forgot about Mass.

ETA:  People are far more courteous down here too.

When I was about 13 a family from Tifton GA by the name of Haggard moved to my small town. The father had something to do with the Mobile oil plant in the next town down the road. The kids, a girl and a boy, ran around with me and my friends all summer and we had a great time. Both the kids fit right in with us. They were very polite, well mannered, smart, and funny. If they were any indication of the rest of the people in GA, I would think the problem might be you.

As a recovering Northerner, I can't stand people that move to the South, and then bitch that it's not like where they came from.  Don't like it?  Move the f@#k back.  Generally I've found people to be genuinely nicer, the weather better, the gun laws freer, the taxes lower, and the women less gold digging.

If you are not happy here in Georgia, then Delta has non-stop flights every day back to that utopia that you just happened to have left to come here in the first place.

If you are  not willing to do that, then pour yourself a nice cup of STFU, your nasally accent is making the dogs whine.

I said the night you left me,
Nothin' worse could ever happen,
But seeing you with someone else proved that I was wrong.
And when your eyes met mine,
I knew that you were gone forever,
Along with all the reasons , I had for hanging on.
I'd be better off in a pine box,
On a slow train back to Georgia,
Or in the grey walls of a prison doing time.
I think I'd rather die,
And go to hell and face the devil,
Than to lie here with you and him together on my mind.

I always thought that someday,
We might get back together.
I just thought you needed time to spread your wings and fly.
But when I saw the lovin' way,
You held onto each other,
It was all that I could do, not to break right down and cry.

I'd be better off in a pine box,
On a slow train back to Georgia,
Or in the grey walls of a prison doing time.
I think I'd rather die,
And go to hell and face the devil,
Than to lie here with you and him together on my mind.

Girl I'd be better off in a pine box,
On a slow train back from Georgia,
Or in the grey walls of a prison doing time.
I think I'd rather die,
And go to hell and face the devil,
Than to lie here with you and him together on my mind.

I can't lie here with you and him together on my mind

Lamps in the windows burnin' bright, over in Santa Fe tonight
Full moon shining down along the border
But the ground is hard and the night is black
Over here by the railroad track
And I wish to the Lord that I was back in Georgia

Blue water in the evening sun,
Calling me when the day is done
Mama mama pray for your son

All of my life I've been told
That the LA streets was paved with gold
Fame and fortune waiting to reward ya
But it didn't take long to understand
California ain't the promised land
But at least a man's a man in Georgia

Blue skys in the mornin' there
And there's green trees and breathin' air
Rockabye in my easy chair

Well the St. Marys River in the Georgia moonlight
Flowing under the Folkston Bridge
The sun comes up through the long leaf pine trees
Over 'round the Kingsland ridge
I may be here but my mind is still
About 90 miles north of Jacksonville

Well I may not make it, it's a long long road
But mama I've paid all the debts I owe
And if I don't you know they gonna find me tryin'
They took my songs and they took my soul
They made me hard and they made me old
Hell I just been born, but I feel just like I'm dying
