Who do you think is going to be the new member of the First presidency?

I think it will be Henry B. Eyring.

I have no idea, but I'm excited to find out.  Just a few more days to go.

ETA:  Elder Eyring is very similar in character to Elder Faust.  Not saying that it has any bearing on who will be called, but it would be interesting as far as the dynamic of the First Presidency.

I guess that gives me a good reason to watch.

I think it will be Elder Eyring because he has experience in the quorum of the 12, he's not new to it and they will probably want someone who is in for the long haul, as in not going to die soonish.

My heart is breaking watching and listening to Elder Wirthlin!

I teared up as well.  It was especially touching when Elder Nelson came over to support him as Elder Wirthlin's physical strength was giving out.

What think ye of Elder Holland's talk that
he is giving at this very moment?

I think it necessary to copy and paste it here
in this forum.

A true "Christian" should take heed.

Powerful. Purely powerful.

I think that President Hinckleys' talk on anger was very good.  Many of us myself included can learn a lot from it.

Amen.

My wife would be thrilled to hear the talk.

I think I'll rip it out of her Ensign when it gets here.

He certainly let loose with both barrels.

A member of the Church's First Presidency died a couple of months ago.  His replacement was named yesterday.

Yup, it's called General Conference.  It's a gathering of the saints (church members) for the purpose of listening to the counsel given by a living Prophet and Apostles.

The talks should be available.  The talks are available online here.

Also, today you can watch them live at 10:00am and 2:00pm mountain time here or listen at the same times here.

We just got a new member of the First Presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, following the passing of Elder James Faust a little while back.

So now we have to wait another six months to the next conference.  What did you all think of this one?

I certainly enjoyed it.  I can hardly wait for LDS.org to post the talk for reading.
