Says that John McCain doesn't have enough experience for the white house, but apparently his candidate Obama with one whole term under his belt does. Hmmmmmmmmm.

Wesley was tested, and found lacking.

It sounds to me like he is saying McCain has the wrong kind of experience, not that he hasn't enough of it. This point is fairly illogical, as McCain has plenty of experience as politician.

I'd like to hear his opinion of what makes Obama qualified.

Wesley Clark has demonstrated he is nothing more than a discarded tampon insertion sleeve.  Not even up to the task of being a tool.

Seemed like a well trained lackey for the Clintons during Bill's tenure in the Whitehouse. Definitely not a conservative in any sense of the word IMO.

Obama's record is thin? Obama doesn't even HAVE a record!

It's a given that Barack Hussein Obama will select a VP running mate who has some wartime experience, because the Chicago empty suit doesn't have a CLUE about the military. He is incapable of knowing how to protect this nation.

Wesley Murtha Clark shows his character here, badmouthing another military man.

Obama probably watched Top Gun, did McCain ever attend Top Gun?  Clearly Obama is more qualified.

I believe the quote I listed was from "Crossfire" sometime in 03, but there is a similar statement on his still active website.

It's in an article by Michael Moore, but he is quoting Clark.

"If Barack Obama wants to question John McCain's service to his country, he should have the guts to do it himself and not hide behind his campaign surrogates," retired Adm. Leighton "Snuffy" Smith said in the statement.

How many people is that Obama has had to "distance" himself from?

Pastors, friends, longtime supporters, a church, advisers in his campaign, and now Wes Clark.

If this keeps up he's going to be a lonely fella.

I have met no one with any regard or respect for him.

Clark is a classic example of a guy who "made it" off of the efforts - and at the expense of - others.

In fairness he's asked people to stop bagging on his wife, who is campaigning for him and bagging on pretty much everybody else. But, if he takes heat for it I suppose he will distance himself from her, too.

Loyalty: Another thing lacking from the Obama campaign.

From Wikipedia:

Clark's final divisional command came with the 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood, Texas. Clark was in command during three separate deployments of forces from Fort Hood for peacekeeping in Kuwait.

Once promoted to a full 4-star general, Clark assumed command of USSOUTHCOM in June 1996.Some critics, such as CounterPunch and FrontPageMag.com, have made allegations that Clark was, to some degree, involved in the Waco Siege, where 74 Branch Davidian followers were killed during the final raid, including their leader David Koresh. Groups making allegations of Clark's involvement note that Clark's second-in-command at the time, future General Peter Schoomaker, met with Texas governor Anne Richards and then-Attorney General Janet Reno, who were also allegedly involved with the siege. They also note that some military technology and personnel from Fort Hood, including two M1 Abrams tanks, were lent[34] to the FBI for the operation. Some also suggest that, given the sensitive nature of the materials lent for the operation, Clark had some knowledge of and perhaps a hand in planning the Waco Siege.[35] Others, such as James Ridgeway, dismiss the allegations as conspiracy theories with little evidence to substantiate them.[36]

Just sayin'.

Clark stated something similiar about John Kerry in the 2004 primaries.

He believes that only someone who has obtained a star on their shoulder can present themselves as a military leader or with a knowledge of national security.

It is clear though through Clark's performance during the Balkans and Kosovo showed that he obtained his rank through administrative talent and not through a display of tactical ability.  There is a BIG difference between an General who is strong with administration during peace time and one that has a strong command of tactics.

Had McCain been left uninjured and not pursued a career in politics it is high likely that he like his father and grandfather would have made admiral.  I believe McCain did a Captain.

As I said in the other Clark thread, it's the old "good cop, bad cop" routine.  Clark was sent out there to set up Obama's "patriotism" speech today.  No doubt about it, this was orchestrated, and I'm sure that Clark was told ahead of time that if he's demonstrates his willingness to "take one for the team", he'll have the SecDef or National Security Adviser position should Obama win.

This wouldn't be the same Clark that came with in a C%NT hair of getting us in to a shooting war with the Russians over Pristina Airfield in Kosovo, would it?
I also recall Col. Hackworth stating he would make a fine Amadasador but he was no "Man of War".
Now thats one opinion I can believe in.

I think ya'll are reading this wrong. Clark is one of the Clinton's lackies that they keep in the back until needed. I think he intentionally spouted off that stupid "McCain is inexperienced" crap so that the heat would end up on Obama. No body sane, even those in the mushy middle, honestly believe that Obama has more military expertise than McCain. I think the Clinton's are still trying to sabotage Obama. And for once, good for them.
