So, with the recent influx of Bath Salt incidents, I've been thinking.  Is this a game changer?  They're fast, semi-intelligent, and did I say fast.  So, should I consider running an 1100 with a 22-25" choked barrel and #4 buck as a possibility for a zed gun.  How does one prepare for the "Salty" scenario?  Add trap shooting to the repertoire?  If those things are running you're gonna have to lead em'.

The bath salt thing was a cover up. There was no trace of bath salt or hallucinogenic in his system at the time of autopsy. And for those who claim "it got out of his system." That is incorrect. In order for something to get out of your system, you have to be alive with a beating heart. However, the zombie was shot dead. therefore, it would have shown up at the time of the autopsy.

Forget #4 shot, go with 00 or 000.  Personally I prefer an 18" barrel just for ease of manuevering.  There's not going to be a huge difference in ballistics with shot due to barrel length.

If we're talking fast the last think i would grab is a shotgun. They are heavy. shells are bulky, and most importantly reloading takes too long.

I'd take any one of my Glocks or AR's before i grabbed my FN TPS or SLP.

who knows what crap these idiots are smoking when I was in high school kids in my chemistry class would mix up chemicals when teacher was not there and smoke them I mean blue smoke yea I bet that was healthy. This was in high school so imagine people living in the slums desperate for a high what they probably try. Scary I hope the trend does not continue. If it does I hope they isolate the root cause wether chemical or airborne  somthing seems to be a trending problem now. I think as stated shotty ammo would be very bulky and heavy for bug out weapon, but if bunkered down this would be my choice for easier defense of the the complex you stay at in close range anyways.

#4 buck penetrates deeper than 00 or 000, and would be what I would go with.  Forget learning to trap shoot, these are big targets and very little lead would be required.

Practice reloading your shotgun, as that is the downfall of the scatter gun against multiple targets.  Also learn how to combat load slugs.  A set of plain jane turkey sights for the rib can be a great aid in aiming slugs.

If I was going with a shotgun, I would get a Saiga and some of those large cap magazines/drums.  I want semiauto, magazine-fed, and the ability to mount optics.  A Saiga 12 ga with side rail meets those requirements.

If you're going to rock a shotgun, the Saiga 12 is a good choice for the reasons mentioned.

This seems like a good time/place for this pic again:
