I've never read the book but know every line.  It's on today, I'm making dressing and half watching it at the same time.
There are multiple references to Belle's boy, and her long stares at Rhett, plus her relationship with him.
Is it implied that Belle's son was his??

I say yes.

Margaret Mitchell never explained since she was killed prior to a second book, and it wouldn't have been proper for her to talk about such things straightforward at the time the book came out.
