our GA/AL crew was asked to help Marion Military Academy train some cadets with live fire. These are kids graduating in the next 2 years to become officers in the US ARMY INFANTRY. Not only was it a complete honor for us we were more than happy to help them out.
today was a trial run, we had 6 cadets. gave them some basic shooting instruction on rifle and pistol as well as some good history lessons on weapons they may be seeing in the near future.
THIS is what our shooting club is about. Helping the community and helping our future and present soldiers. I can't tell you guys how proud i am right now of the Alabama and Georgia crew for not only donating time and weapons but a SERIOUS pile of ammunition and expertise.
We will be doing this again and the academy is hoping this will be a long term relationship for both of us. Hopefully us old farts can give these kids the extra edge that basic training may not.

PS.... we can expect a few new arfcom members as well. These are stand up kids that i am proud to welcome to the site.
