Its Christmas season and my brother works hard, but doesn't have a lot of money.  I  happen to make more and I'd like to reward him for the holidays.  He says he wants a glock so I though it'd be cool to buy us both identical glocks since we're the only siblings.  Is there any reason we shouldn't?  He's wanting either .40 or .45 acp so 20 or 21 model, is there any reason I shouldn't? I've been drinking but I'm thinking he needs to be able to defend his home and he works hard even if he doesn't have it all figured out.  I think family i the most important thing in life, what say you?

No reason not to. I gave my brother in law a Glock 17 a few years back as a combo birthday/Christmas present and I think I made his year.

Do it. Family should always look after each other.

Cool!  Thanks guys, I just feel, especially now, that its more important than worrying about his mortgage that may take years to pay off.

Do it, and check around to see if you can get consecutive serial numbers.

Why do you advise that?

Glock Model 20 is 10mm. If he wants .40 S&W then the choices are 22, 23, 27, and 35.
Sorry, had to nitpick, I am OCD

Get him a Glock, an AR, and NRA membership. Set him up to be one of us.

I'm giving my brother and SIL a shotgun this year.  I gave my BIL and sister a shotgun for Christmas the year they got married.  A man should have something to defend his home with, and money can be tight when you're just starting out, so why not?

Besides, it'll give me an excuse to buy the one I want.

Damn right it's cool. My brother and I still have our first rifles- Marlin Glenfield bolt action .22s with consecutive serial numbers. We have always thought that was cool.
