In my last skirmish a few years ago, (we played, with permission, in an unused warehouse complex...) with a bunch of guys who figured out it was cheaper than paintball, my AEG's battery died but I wanted to keep playing.
So I just took a paper cup full of bb's, did a low crawl to the barricade where the opposing team was holed up, stood up in a suicidal blaze of glory, suppressive fire bb's from my team shooting right over my shoulders, screamed "GRENADE!" and chucked the paper cup at them. It burst nicely and showered them in bb's. Then the game stopped, they all stood up with WTF-looks trying to decide if they were out or not...

There's a much easier way to make airsoft grenades than that, and the results are cheap enough that you don't have to worry about losing $30 worth of gadget if you can't find it in a field.
I'll have to dig out the blueprints again, some guy came up with it years ago. Called it the Foxbomb. I tried one once, it actually works pretty well. Found it - you get the idea more or less. He made some later improvements on the design but wouldn't post them because he went a little nuts wanting to patent the design. http://airsoftretreat.com/oldforums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=83642&whichpage=1 |

I'm wrong - $110 + S&H: http://www.gunnerairsoft.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=1746&osCsid=3bd0a69ffe4963594824f4198692b025 |

I could use the PVC design in my living room if I wanted. Some groups also don't allow paint to avoid liquids getting into devices with electronics and hobbyist wiring. |

Maybe one day you can be this cool:

Jesus Christ, don't show the ATF that grenade launcher! They're going to declare that illegal if they get their hands on that! It's made of plastic or a cheap alloy metal (possibly cheap cast aluminum or pot metal). It wouldn't even survive the firing of a single real 40mm round, much less more than one. The Consumer Safety Board might have an issue with that bouncy betty mine. Nasty point on the bottom of it. |

I wonder if some of you guys who make fun of airsoft just got your ass handed to you by a kid. We ARE here on a gun sight.....and like it or not if you have a good place to shoot it is pretty cool. I bought one for my son who also shoots my AKs, ARs, Garands, 1911s, Glocks and some pretty neat "toys" some friend's of mine have. We had gotten into paint ball, but I gotta be honest. Between the cost and the cleanup.....I just couldn't get into it. So a friend of my son and his dad have some matches at his farm and he invited us over. I was thinking .......but decided to go cause we are good friends. They have 20 or so wooded acres with four buildings that have several rooms......best of both worlds. The first time I tried it I got thumped. The second time I delivered some thumpin. One boy came over and kept running and playing after I would shoot him yelling "you didn't hit me". So next time he came by I flipped the selector to happy and left no doubt that he had been had. Anyway, the guns are pretty good replicas. My M4....yes mine ....looks exactly like some of it's "big brothers" with the same operational controls. Just like my son's MP5 and P90. So it gives us parents another way to teach gun control and safety. It also gives the kids a chance to develop some tactical experience.Having said all that, some of these guys I see on some videos and some of the guys I have shot with, really don't give me much to work with as far as going to bat for them. But I look past them and look at the positive experience that can be had. So blast away if you must.....but I second the OP's motion. |

I've been contemplating getting another WA M1911A1 military. I haven't owned an airsoft gun since I was 16 (I had quite a few....TM M733, TM P90, KSC Mk23 (all metal), WA MEU Late (all metal), WA M1911A1 SCW (Metal slide).
But, then I sold them all and bought R/C Helicopters..... Then I started college and have had no time to fly or maintain them.
But, with ammo being expensive and scarce, I'm mighty tempted to pick up some new ones. Not so much to skirmish with, but just to plink without slaughtering my wallet. |
