Last weekend at the local funshow, I purchased a cheap 20 - 60 power NcStar Spotting scope for $50 bucks and change.  It came with Bipod, Carrying case and a laser aiming device.

Now, I knew when I bought it that a laser on a spotting scope are about as useful as tits on a tailgate, but what the hell, the price was right.

So last night I am messing around with thing.  All the lights out, bouncing the beam off mirrors, making smoke to see the beam...all the stuff all men do when they get this type of toy.  But, true to fashion, I got bored.  So I decided to go OUTSIDE!!!  I bounced the beam off of my car, the neighbors house, trees, telephone pols etc.   But when I bounced it off of the reflectors on my truck....WHOA!!!!  It lit up like the 4th of July!!!   COOL!!!  Then I began to look for more reflective surfaces.  Green street signs were ok, yellow dead end sign...pretty cool, but when I hit the Red Stop Sign on the corner......you wouldn't believe the display it put out.  The entire sign lit up like the space shuttle!  The little red beam caused this thing to glow and throw red beams of light everywhere!  The neighbors came out and were duly impressed!

Thats all....I am just a kid at heart!

What does it look like when you bounce it off of an airliner?

Let us know.

Get the cat to chase the dot.  Then run the dot across the floor to the closet door and switch it off.  The cat will spend hours reaching uder the door, looking for the dot.

Quite possibly the most fun I've ever had while sitting on the couch, years ago, was watching a roomate's 2 kittens chase the red dot around the house.

I got the same scope for $76 on ebay. Never fails, story of my life.
I do like to scope though. Will go to range next week and try out. I have been satisfied with my NC Star 4X on my AR.
The laser device is much fun, as I had never owned one before.

Shine it directly into your eyes.  It's really cool.

point it at cops, they think it's hilarious when they mistake it for a laser sight from a firearm

I was playing around with my laser keychain and my puppy last night.
He is a hyper 7 month old lab.
Except I got scared he would chew or dig a hole in the carpet later looking for it, so I stopped and did something else with him.
He had more fun with it than the cat, and that's saying a lot.

Try shooting it into one of those crystal sunbeam things.  It will split the beam all over the place.

I had one of those laser pointers. When driving on the hiway at night  I'd point it up at the overhead signs from like 500 yards away. I knew drivers must have been curious.
