"The Marines say they did not spotlight any high-achieving women because they work as teams, not as individuals. And women may do well on physical tests, the Marines say, but the study found they tired more easily than men, took longer to complete a combat exercise and had far more injuries."

Shocking

The marksmanship one really surprised me, since I regularly see female shooters shoot well and pick up things faster than men in long range shooting courses.  My experiences with them can only be described as anecdotal though, since the numbers of female shooters just aren't anywhere near the male shooters I've dealt with.

Other than that, I could have told you the results of the other performance fields without the study.

Yep.  I've noticed female cops tend to shoot worse than males.

The only reason the Jarheads don't have a queer and a woman in every foxhole is because they haven't been ordered to put a queer and a woman in every foxhole. When they are ordered to do it, they'll do it, just like everyone else. What, you think they're just going to say, "Fuck you!" to the Joint Chiefs of Staff or El Presidente? lol. Good luck with that.

If the U.S. Army Ranger School is ordered to graduate "x" number of she-males and women each cycle, they'll graduate "x" number each cycle. Of course they won't deserve to graduate and won't meet any of the standards, but that won't matter because: orders.

Welcome to the future. It's a helluva place.

Although women Marines do have a higher unq rate and lower rate of qualification, the reason the study makes sense is the ability to shoot degrades as you become fatigued;  most of these ranges occurred with full gear and were not the KD course.

The difference in accuracy, from both sexes, from the M4 to the M27 is surprising. I've always felt the M27 was not only more accurate, but also easier to shoot accurately. Not to mention the difference between male and female accuracy with the M27.  I suppose the extra weight made a difference?

At least this study on how to weaken the military was able to waste a shit ton of money that could have been spent treating PTSD or actually strengthening the military.

I was thinking that was the most likely cause.

I remember surprise performance-based evaluations.  One in particular for my Battalion in the 82nd was awesome.  At least one 1SG and CO got relieved (artillery guys more later).

Anyway, we're minding our own business, when we get told to draw weapons, get the studs into full battle rattle with rucks, and be out on the rocks ready to step.  No advanced prep, no notifications, just surprise.

A few hours later, we're about finished with a 12-mile forced march, which has several live stress fire events along the way, including:

* CQM range pulling SKEDCO litters full of sandbags back and forth between strings of fire, getting rocks bounced off your K-pot and back while shooting, all for time and accuracy.

* Qual Range

* Common tasks

When the Battalion Artillery battery 1SG and CO fell out of the march due to heat exhaustion, when the medics dropped their drawers to take rectal temps on them, they were wearing polyproylene long johns, and it was nowhere near winter, a rather warm day actually.

Anyway, I loved things like that, as I like being tested.  That event alone would have crushed females, and I can imagine someone showing up to the range all disheveled trying to concentrate as the sweat dripped into their eyes, unable to see the sils on the qual range, which have very limited exposure times.

This is a man's job, pure and simple.

So not only can females not shoot as well, but they slow down the hump and they get broken a lot?

No Shit.

I lost my taste for the female element of the corps after a week in which a married female slept with half the shop, another married female went on to explain how she had "avoided" 4 deployments by getting pregnant and a third attempted to file sexual harassment charges on me for knocking on a door to an office while she was in there titty feeding her crotch fruit.

About all I needed to see.

I honestly thought Amos was going to push it through or at least that was the rumor floating through the lower enlisted ranks.

But then we were also not returning home from Afghanistan after our deployment but invading Iran instead.

I have a hard but fair and simple solution that can put this to rest.

Institute common Physical Fitness Test standards that are gender-neutral across the Marines for 5 years.

These should not be any lesser than the current male standards.  That will give the females plenty of time to show how they can meet the actual standards of just being a Marine first, rather than something else in Marine uniform, but held to lower standards.

Then conduct the battlefield simulation studies after that time.

They could have just asked a few NCOs in mixed units. Would have got the same information faster and cheaper.
