OK, it's Friday! Let's have some fun. Here is the scenario: The BATFE has been forced, somehow, to allow a Machine Gun Registration Amnesty. The rules are: - This only applies if Machine Guns are allowed in your state - Registration of new Machine Guns is FREE - Each individual, qualified to own Machine Guns, is limited to 10 new registrations - The registry is open for 90 days What would you register? My list is: 2 AR lowers 2 AK's (one full size and one Krinkov) 2 HK Trigger Packs 1 10/22 trigger pack 1 Uzi 1 MG42 1 M1919 |
Only one? Tough one. It would have to be an AR lower, or an HK trigger pack. Probably an AR lower, so I can run my LM-7 on it. |
Silly me. I was actually going with a list I could afford (AND, I do believe my HK trigger pack would work in a HK21. Correct me if I am wrong).
|
Wait a minute.... we can imagine that the laws have changed for BATFE....... but I can't because my state sucks? |

Only ten? Two AR-15/M-16 lowers Two AK lowers (1 Krinkov, 1 5.56mm AK) Uzi MG-3 (get one of those parts kits and register the receiver and grab a .308 barrel for it) FN FAL (or, more probably, a DS Arms FAL) PKM Vz-61 Skorpion PPSh-41 The AR lowers and AK lowers are easy to do (I can just buy the 5.56mm AK, drill the third hole, and install full-auto internals even), the PPSh-41 and Skorpion would be easy to do (parts kits are available), the Uzi would be a little more difficult, the PKM would be expensive but doable (parts kit again), and the FAL and MG-3 would be the most difficult. If I could only do one? Either an AR lower or an AK. |

Then again, if we only have 90 days to register our new MG's... how long does the ATF usually take to approve silencers, SBS', AOW's, etc.? It's been documented and proven that when the 1986 ban was rolling around, a LOT of people submitted paperwork for an MG and the ATF simply took its time approving it, then denied them once the date had passed. I would find it quite likely that the ATF would drag its heels on the majority of applications and not approve them once the 90 days were up. They'd only approve enough new MG's to say that they had complied, and most of those would be favors to LEO, feds, politicians, and celebrities who wanted a brand-new transferable machine gun. |
There are belt fed uppers for the AR15/M16 in .22 (LM7), 5.56 (ceiner belt feds and shrikes), 308 and 8mm (XMG) |
Then change it to all AR-15 lowers. |
OK, you're allowed to pretend you moved to a freer state.
