How do you get a freeze plug out of the engine block?I have pretty decent access to it .
Do I hammer a screwdriver thru it or is there a better way.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

That or drive a screw into it and pull it out.

Hammer/screwdriver on the egde, it should spin. Vise-grips and yank.

I have always tried to use a slide puller if possible. But have used a hammer and screwdriver to pry them out as well.

That was pretty easy, drilled a large hole and popped it out with a huge screwdriver.

My preferred method too. I'll use a large punch or chisel if I have one handy to avoid poking a hole in the plug.
