Truck was parked outside for the last 48 hours.  Frances went through here (Tampa Bay area) as a cat 1 (I think).  Went out to start my truck after the rain let up.

The truck started but then died after a few seconds.  It took a couple of dozen attempts to restart the engine (some starts resulted in the engine running for a second or two before it died again).

The truck finally started and, after running rough for a few minutes, the engine started running normally again.

I hadn't realized that the engine might flood out from wind driven rain (as it could while driving through deep water) while parked.

This may be old news / common knowledge for others but it was news to me.  Just thought I'd share for future reference (which unfortunately may be the near future if Ivan shows up this weekend).

Yep, maybe a small amount of water got in to the inner workings of the engine. Maybe some fuel injector cleaner from Wall-Mart may help clear out the water. I'm talking a bout afew drops, anything more and you will probably have to drain the fuel tank.

get a spare air filter for your truck so if  ivan comes through you have a dry filter to put in it
