Four U.S. Contractors Killed Near Basra
Wednesday, September 07, 2005
BAGHDAD, Iraq — A roadside bomb exploded Wednesday near a passing convoy of American security guards in the southern city of Basra (search), killing four contractors, a U.S. Embassy spokesman said.

Three of the men were killed instantly and a fourth died after British troops took him to a military hospital, embassy spokesman Peter Mitchell said.

"All four individuals worked for a private security firm supporting the regional U.S. Embassy office in Basra," Mitchell said in a statement.

AP Television News videotape showed an overturned white SUV in a ravine next to a busy highway. Six British Army Land Rovers, together with Iraqi police cars and two civilian ambulances were parked nearby. British soldiers were seen loading a body from the SUV into a military ambulance.

Triple Canopy.

From Excite news.

Alan Ptak, senior vice president for the company, identified the four men as: Ronald Hyatt of Calera, Ala.; Robert McCoy of Refugio, Texas; Robert Pole of Miller Place, N.Y.; and Ryan Young of Lewisburg, Tenn.

FOAD Mobius you scumbag

Do you have any idea who Triple Canopy is? Who their direct link is? Who fills their ranks?

Shut your holster fool, 90% or more of those guys are former green beanies or frogmen that have answered a call and are filling in much needed slots that otherwise would have NOBODY to do them.

I cant make any further comment about this company or guys.

But I will say you are OUT OF YOUR ELEMENT

You sir are a complete waste of otherwise useful oxygen.

Have the best day ever,

Dram

This is a New YorK Times article on the company "Triple Canopy". I believe that all of their Security Operators were former Army Delta.

Triple Canopy hires almost entirely (or possibly entirely) from former Army SF, including Delta. At least thats what I heard on Lightfighter and from some guys in the service

A guy I know spent 27 years in SF, and works for one of the Ranger batts as a contractor. He says the TC guys he met were squared away.

Triple Canopy= Airborne, Ranger and Special Forces tabs.

This is a a guess as I have heard that phrase before when describing those with all three qualifications.

Then again I am a MARINE, so that "patch" world is a mystery.

Here is a good question. If a person is selected for Delta out of the Ranger Bat or an Airborne unit, once he passes selction, is he awarded a SF tab even though he did not go through the "Q" course, or do they consider the selection process a form of a "Q" course?

My understanding and I could be wrong but afterthe selection process the recruit must go through the 'Q' course during his training for Delta.

My DI in AIT was selected for Delta while I was there.  Great guy.
