Had a back injury a few years ago and part of the injury was foot drop in my left leg/foot. Anyone else have this problem? Anyone consider nerve transfer surgery? The brace that I have to use really sucks.

My boss has that from broken neck. Has good and bad days and some days his left foot just will not work. Never have bad enough back injure to have that just some compression fractures long time ago.

Have you tried the electrostimulators? I've seen some impressive videos of patients.

Look up the noodle foot drop brace. It's better

Yeah, I tried a lot of things over the years with nothing making a real difference. I recently got tested for a device called the walk aid which is a type of electo stim but it didn't work for me, the nerve in my left leg that brinks your toes up when you walk is dead.

My foot is okay, but after hip replacement my quad muscles and knee doesn't work. I searched high and low for a doctor interested in some type of femoral nerve repair and eventually gave up. If you aren't rich and/or famous then they expect you to deal with the hand you're dealt I guess.

Sounds like your choices are a brace, a nerve release or an ankle fusion. Or to live with it.

The TV show botched had a girl who was a paraplegic force herself to work out and recover, still uses braces for foot drop while working out. Her case was exceptional however. You ever ask about IGF or other types of therapy?

Doc has been talking to me about a nerve transfer surgery. More surgery without a high success rate is not something I would be fond of. More tests are in my future.
