Way to go!

Probably 11-09? What were you XL, CBM, or EN?

Congrats!

Also... when you start learning how to tank, don't try to help the boom!  That's how all the dents/scratches on the nose get there.  Just stay put and let the boom do his/her thing!

Congrats.  I've got a buddy in the ANG that flies one and a few other cool ass jets.  Full bird Colonel, and one of the coolest motherfuckers I know.  Funny, funny man.

Congrats!  That's the plane I always wanted to fly growing up (and as an adult now, but life lead me down another path)... Stick and rudder, blowin shit up...!  Keep us posted of your journey through training.

What a change of pace. You sir get to fly an awesome bird. Sure, most guys I know that flew it wish it had a bit more power and nose authority, but no one complains about the weapons or mission.

Bravo.

Yep. I need more for the collection (already have one)   Actually, I'm looking for one of the pre-production purple colored casings. There were very cool looking.

Awesome aircraft that saved my bacon in Desert Storm.

Nothing like hearing the Burp of the gun just over the ridge and know that some
armor is biting the dust.

Congrats on the Wings and the Airframe.

Hard work and perseverance is how I made the switch.  My sponsoring unit supported me throughout the whole process,  I did not go behind their back looking for a fighter unit.

Thanks all, I'll keep you updated, now on to IFF and RTU.

Go Ugly Early!  I hear the most common write-up on an A-10 is:  "Bird strikes from behind".

I  Love Your  Screen name.

I was paired up with an A-10 pilot for the E&E part of SV-80.

This guy had no sense of danger (almost got us captured a couple times).

Congrats on the selection.

BTW, it bugs me that you'll be getting paid to drive that beast.  I'd do it for free.

Congrats man...you gotta love the Guard!  Best deal out there!

Please do keep us informed.  Not sure where you're going to IFF but I actually had a blast.  Cool IPs and cool flying.  Sure it's a haze, but just play the game and it goes a lot better.  Realize they are not trying to make you a BFM or Surface attack machine but rather a good, safe wingman!

FTU = Best time of my life!  I was a few hours up the road from DM, but we shared the Barry M Goldwater Range!  Some of the best airspace/ranges in the world!  Point south (or west on your case) and you hit the airspace!

AZ is a great place to be young, single (if you are) and in the fast (somewhat ) jet business!  Tucson, Phoenix, San Diego, Las Vegas, Havasu, Lake Powell, Flagstaff are all great weekend trips!   If you're single, get with your bros and go big on the house!  I had three buddies from Sheppard that went together and rented a 1.1 million dollar home and lived it up in Tucson.  He had to rub it in because he beat me...we only had a 900,000 dollar house....this shitty market is your gain, as far as renting.  Settle for nothing less than 3-4k sq ft, big pool, with a view!  Oh, and we still made money on our BAH!  Enjoy it.....it goes by WAY to fast!  Oh, and I forgot to mention....the chicks out there are F'in HOT!

Most UPT bases have IFF, but it's a PCS to the B-Course.

My buddy just sent me this,  I am definately getting pumped up for IFF and the A-10 now.  The voice sounds a lot like an IP I had in T-6s who flew hawgs and was a DFC recipient, not 100% sure though.  Either way, cool stuff.

Going good so far, have my second flight on Monday.

That video is pretty funny.  The reason the IP starts laughing towards the end is becasue when the student actually gets into the AIM-9 wez and ripples off a heater, the bandit pops a flare at the same time making all that work and yelling worthless.

When I was out  in the field during basic training at Ft. Leonard Wood, we could hear A-10's from the adjacent AFB doing practice fire.  Just the sound of those guns is enough to thank God that you're not on the ugly end of that fire.
