Im looking for a modern flight sim with an excellent blend of realism and graphics.

Im thinking of picking up LOMAC GOLD again.  I purchased it before, but starforce acted weird and would'nt let me play it.  Since i've used other games with Starforce protection i assumed it was a bad disk took it back for Morrowind.  But if there is something that looks as good as LOMAC with better realism and a dynamic campaign i'd be interested.

 Falcon 4.0 Allied Force

The realism factor is unparalleled.  You can even perform the entire ramp start up before every flight, if you want.  All that, plus dynamic campaigns.

+1

Falcon 4.0 is the best flight sim ever.

+1 for MS Flight Sim for a Civilian flight sim

+1 for Falcon for a Military Sim. Closet you are going to get to being the real thing.

Both are great sims.

+1 for falcon.  Great game.  I've done strike missions with as many as 12 other pilots on the multiviper server.  It's unreal...

Not to hijack this thread, but I have yet to have a problem with Starforce. <knocking on wood> But I do tend to use NO-CD patches for games too :)

I bought both.  My new copy of LOMAC:Gold works perfectly.  Falcon 4.0 runs silky smooth, it almost flows like water.  Nice.  I can run LOMAC on high(not max) between 30-40fps.  Some reviews are too harsh on LOMAC.  I think its great.  A review on gamesfaq stated you cant fire the 20mm and missles without hitting C.  I can fire both from my joystick  The only problem i see with LOMAC is the lack of a dynamic campaign.

What is Black Shark?  A helicopter sim/addon for LOMAC?  Im sold already.  I love Helicopters WAY more then jets.  Ever since i played Gunship and Gunship 2000 many many moons ago.  Commanche 4 was the only Helo "sim" on the PC i can remember in recent history.  I think Janes made an Apache sim also, but the graphics did'nt look too great.

The F/A-18 is my second favorite plane after the SU-27.  Instead of going back further.  I'll wait for a more modern sim of this aircraft.   Hmm... maybe if a US vs China scenario concerning Taiwan.  Plus before buying more jet sims (im attempting to round out my PC game collection) i want to see how well i'll do with Falcon and LOMAC.  Which should be ok.  The only thing i find daunting is the MFD and Radar usage.  Flying is relatively easy.

Steal Beasts 2 is supposedly coming along, but Operation Flashpoint 2 if its aiming for realism will be a much better choice and cheaper then $125.  Iron Warriors looks nice, but i want US AFV's too.

If you are a fan of helipcopter sims, you really did yourself a disservice by not checking out Janes Longbow 2.  It had amazing graphics for its day, and a 3d cockpit that was pretty cool.  My friend and I used to fly networked and front seat/back seat in the same Longbow.  It was hella cool.

If I have to go through and remove all those links, that won't be the only thing that  gets removed.

It's not modern, but anyone looking for a great WW2 flight sim needs to look at Warbirds from iEN.  I've been playing it for many years and think it's the best out there.
