What are your guys thoughts on it? I'm kinda torn as it feels like another 500px to me. That and adding tags annoys the shit out of me. That said, if it's worth having, I'll keep my account.
Figure I've got my photography facebook page, IG, gallery, and now flickr. Generally it's a bastard to keep them all topped off lol |

I use the Arfcom photo host for things I post here. For hosting elsewhere, Flickr. Seems to work ok.

I've happily used Flickr for several years. Unless they change for the worse, I'm staying with them. Neat to see how much I've changed over the years in taking pics and editing. |

Flickr is my go-to. Photobucket went full retard down the rabbot years ago, and Imgur cut off ARFCOM embedding for a while last year (something to do with the whole http vs https thing) so I crossed them off my list.
I'm so entrenched in Flickr right now I don't know what I'll do if they start dicking around like PB and Imgur did. I hated the tags at first but now love them; lets me automagically display a picture title. Plus I can easily click through to look at EXIF. The only thing I don't like about Flickr is they seem to hate Apple mobile devices. Everything looks fine but it's impossible to select an embed link. They specifically do not support iOS, or so they say. I use Windows computers but all my mobile stuff is Apple now. Went to the dark side. |

Flickr is good for the social aspects (comments, likes, etc). It also has some reasonable privacy settings for albums.
500px is steered towards the higher end photos, things you would put in your portfolio. Both are good to have. I use Flickr for hosting pics for my forum posts and the more general pictures. I use Smugmug for my events and sports photos to emphasize the photo viewing and sales options. I have a 500px account, but currently nothing is posted there. Any Instagram photos tend to point back to the Smugmug account. |

I'll admit I did have a 500px account until they got caught selling photos without paying people, or at least taking forever to pay them, however it turned out. Unfortunately, I closed my account during that drama. I've considered reopening it though. Deviantart is my regular hosting as I have unlimited storage I thought smugmug was one of those photo selling product sites? My IG points to my facebook page for photography. |

Yes, 500px had some accounting problems. The artists eventually got paid like they were supposed to, but it took far too long. Not sure if their business practices improved or not.
Yes, Smugmug is geared toward sales. They also to a great job at presentation. And it is not free... |

Is 500px free? Do they have easy-to-use embed links for posting to websites?
Both have a 'shop service' kinda thing. 500px has a marketplace where you can list images to be sold as stock or whatever, while DA will sell prints if you select the option for them to do so. Never used it though, so no idea on quality. |
