| I am looking for a new EDC pocket light. I carry a Fenix PD30 now and it is about 4 1/2" long. I want something that burns a little brighter on the turbo or high setting. What do you guys like that is no larger than this light for a $100 budget? |

I had a PD32, and now I have a PD35. I think the 35 is brighter than a 32. I have never owned a 30.
The only real downside is that a PD35 is about 5.5" long. It might be a bit big for EDC. It fits in my pocket just fine, but I don't know if I would want to carry it all day everyday. Other than that, it is a great light. The turbo mode will light up a field quite well. |

Iphone Yup, 98% of the time, my Galaxy S7 is my light.
Occasionally, I'll clip my Streamlight Protac 1L into my pocket. If I need a light while away from home, I have a couple flashlights in my truck. Between my keys, wallet, phone, knife, and gun, I'm already lugging enough shit around on my person. Fuck carrying a 5"+ long, 1000 lumen flashlight around. |

Get an olight s1 and 2 rechargeable 16430(rechargeable cr123). Twice as bright as a pd30, smaller diameter, and half the length. If you want bigger get the olight s2, which uses an 18650, and is 4x as bright as the pd30, and is still shorter. +1 for this. My current EDC light is an S2 Baton. 950 lumens on turbo, plenty of runtime with Panasonic NCR18650B's. |

When it comes to a flash light for EDC, a key chain light is about as far as I would want to go. |

I have a Surefire Titan Plus that is literally perfect for a tiny EDC light. Carry it everywhere with me and I have no complaints! It either clips in your pocket or onto a keychain. http://i.imgur.com/UjsY5vL.jpg http://i.imgur.com/oSjl6Vz.jpg This is the correct answer. Hell of a light. |

Been carrying a Fenix pd22ue. 500ish lmn on rechargeable 123.
Just got a nitecore mt10c that goes up to 900 with an 18350. So far i like it so far. A small red light acts as a voltage checker and has up and down buttons vs the scroll up single button. 1"tube though. |

Fenix PD35 / PD35 TAC here. Very handy and durable multi-purpose light.
I don't pocket-carry it though; it's a tad long for that. I just use the belt clip. I'd also invest in some 18650 rechargable batteries (I believe that's the battery number). They may not last quite as long per charge as the CR123s, but the cost savings over the long run will make you appreciate them. |

If you want smaller and pretty bright, look to the 'lipstick' size lights, like the Sunwayman V11R, EagleTac D25C Clicky (I have the titanium version,) or the Olight S1 Baton.
They run on CR123A primaries for lower outputs, or they become screamers on a lithium-ion 16340 3.7v rechargeable cells. They're in the 450-500LM range and have decent 30-40 yd. throw. Really, the size of a lady's lipstick. Chris |

I like the size specs and output of the Fenix PD25. I have been using SureFire CR123s but I am now thinking about ordering a recharger and rechargeable batteries. I know a little more about the lights than the recharger and rechargeable batteries. Any advice on buying chargers and rechargeable batteries? I appreciate everyones thoughts. I have looked at each light suggested and like a few of them. |

A Streamlight PT1L, the first one lasted 4 years and the current one is still going after 3. I have some 18650 lights also but they're a bit big for EDC pocket carry and the Streamlight is probably on the downward slope of life expectancy so it's time to take fresh look at what's out there for pocket lights. |

You just plug in the cord to a USB charger and it magnetically attaches to the light. It is by far the coolest light I've seen. Buy a spare 18650 3500 Mah from Fenix and you will be set. |

I had a Sunwayman V11. I lost it. I've never been so bummed about losing something. I loved that light. I carry a gun (Seecamp .32,) knife (SAK SwissChamp,) wallet, keys, gum and flip phone, so I need to go small with my lights and the lipstick lights are small enough, have enough runtime and are bright enough for my daily needs. I like the variable output of the V11R (I have the XM-L U2 and XM-L2 U2 versions,) but I've been carrying my 2014 EagleTac D25C Ti. clicky mostly, since it's a bit slimmer and the modes are good enough for my needs. They have the 2015 version which is a little brighter, but I don't feel the need to chase one down. Chris |

Nitecore EC11 900 Lumens using an 18350 battery. It's a bright little SOB, I'm thinking about getting a couple more of them. http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q125/PursuitSS/Bolt%20Carriers/7991471D-F8F8-4233-9DFC-767A60E6EA77.jpg While the 18350 li-ion cell is a bit fatter than the CR123A/16340 size cell, it has about 25-30% more capacity, if you go that route. The EC11 is a nice light and I'm looking at a few of them right now. Here's a new and interesting 18350 screamer from Manker:
Manker 18350 pocketlight... For <$50, it would be worth the gamble for me. It's got four Nichia 219Bs which are at the top of the heap for tint and color rendition. Chris |
