MSRP is $179, and new factory seconds (which rarely have detectable flaws worth mentioning) are $99.  Figure a used knife in very good condition is worth $75-100.  Of course, that doesn't say whether you like or need the knife or not.  It's a big knife that's really too big for skinning or other "hunting" use, though it would do the job.  I personally prefer drop-point style blades over the clip point (aka Bowie style), but that's just me.  Cold Steel knives are correctly considered an excellent value; your dollars go a long way with regards to their products.

I ordered a Cold Steel Trailmaster last week and was so excited to get it.  I called yesturday to get a tracking number and found out that they didnt ship it yet even though it was sitting in their warehouse.  I was so ticked that I cancelled the order.  

I'm kind of glad that they didnt ship it though.  I found out that Cold Steel doesnt really make knives, they just market and sell them.  I forget which company makes the Trailmaster for them but I remember that I found the original on the net for less money ($89?).

Now I plan on saving my pennies and getting what I really want which is a Strider.
