After being on ARFCOM for 5 years I decided it’s my turn to do a dinner thread. Yes, this is my first dinner thread and it’s also a kill it n grill it. Please take it easy on me 
The dove season opener was Thursday and we had a great afternoon. I’m headed to another field tomorrow afternoon for round 2. The grill got a little hot so the bacon got a little crispy but the dove breast was juicy and pulled right off of the bone. Main Course Dove wrapped in bacon with a fresh slice of Vidalia onion above and below each breast plate – grilled to perfection. Sides include farm fresh green beans, okra from the garden, and a baked tater with butter and cheese. Drink Jameson Yee Haw Pale Ale (local East TN brew) Firearms Mk12 Mod 0 – MK262 Remington 870 – 12 gauge with Fiocchi dove loads (the gun and rounds that took the birds yesterday) Glock 40 MOS with a Trijicon RMR – Underwood 200gr XTPs Walther PPQ – 9mm 124 gr Speer Gold Dots Ruger LCP – Ball .380 FMJs The weapons for this meal were carefully considered for #blackgunsmatter.

Automatic 10/10 But.. I voting 8/10 only because your niggardly serving of bird. That looks delicious and I prefer the bacon crispy like that with dove. Next time try some slices of jalapeño under the bacon. I only had pickled jalapenos in the fridge and that would be doing the bird a disservice. If i had a fresh one you bet I would have also put it in there. |
