For the last couple of days I've noticed strange things with my Firefox - stray graphics all over the page, like smilies in the upper title bars of the menus and other misaligned stuff.

Today, though, forum pages just wouldn't finish loading.  It got so bad that I had to revert back to IE.

I uninstalled it twice and checked for spy software and the like, but I still have the same problems.

Any ideas?

You need to install the 3rd party patch for the  "slashdot rendering bug".
I think thats what fixed it for CK

Are you running 1.0?  I'm another user who has had no issues without having to install the Slashdot rendering extension.

Yup, running 1.0 for a while now.  I had absolutely no issues until just recently and it got progressively worse.  Whatever it was had to have remained in the registry for it to have survived two uninstalls.

Very strange but it's fixed for now.

I've only viewed ARFCOM with Firefox and never hada problem.

From what I have heard the issue is pretty random, and was recognized in the 1.0 betas but was not a "show stopper, critical problem" so it wasn't fixed in 1.0.  It being totally random,  I've only had it happen once,  CK said it happened to him alot.  The problem has been fixed in the current code for ff, and will be in the next release,  from what I read anyways.

Every now and again it does it to me too. I just close out and re-open the main page. Everythings good to go then.
I think the browser just gets ahead of itself when loading. Sometimes on GlockTalk when the page loads, the page will have the first posters avatar in the lower right corner of every post.
I do the same "close, and re-open". Just an inconvience really.

Where is the fix for the slashdot render? I looked on the Mozilla site and couldn't find it. Tried to Google it and just found discussions about it.

I'd like to find the slash dot render fix too.  I clikced on the link USPC posted and got nothing but a blank page...with Firefox.  Any assistance would be appreciated.

While running Firefox, click on the "User Script" link.  Worked like a charm.  Good luck.
