Trying to download the LOTRO free trial from here... http://www.lotro.com/trial I click on download now, it says "You have chosen to open (very long file name which I do not feel like typing here due to my time constraints  ) which is a application from download.turbine.com. Would you like to save this file?" I click save file, and it goes to a BLANK firefox download screen (you know, the one where it says it's downloading to desktop). It's completely blank and has been for a while, and I've tried clicking the link numerous times. This is an issue I had with firefox a year back and why I switched back to IE... can't be too hard of a fix I guess.  Thanks. |

I think that you're waiting for a download to begin that has actually already been completed! It should have downloaded a very tiny (793 kb) file (for the high resolution version) which would be named: LOTRO-US-Book10-Downloader-HighRes-FreeTrial.exe or a 765 kb file for the regular version which would be named: LOTRO-US-Book10-Downloader-FreeTrial-Standard.exe the white window is probably the Firefox Downloads window which you have to manually close if you haven't got it set to automatically close after a download completes. You have to find where the downloader file was saved to, and then click on THAT to begin the actual demo download. In Firefox, go to Tools/Options and click on the Main tab. See what folder you have set for your downloads to be saved to. Now, go locate that folder and open it up. That tiny file should be there. |
