Is this 3 dollar cup really $75

I guess sheep are not the only thing getting fleeced at Brooks Brothers. |

Filson wool coats are certainly not outdated. I have two and they have been used heavily for 20+ years each.
The only thing I have ever heard my Vietnamese dry cleaner compliment is a Filson Cruiser. She examined the wool coat and declared it to be "good." Wool is quiet in the woods. Quiet is a good thing if you hunt. |

Ive got a couple of their jackets, a pair of tin pants, and a couple wool vests currently. Their tin gear is pretty durable, I wore out a pair of the fieldcloth pants in 4 years and threw them away rather then trying to have them repaired. Goretex and other raingear doesnt hold up for shit in my industry, new coat and pants almost every year if you're buying nylon/goretex/rubber. I bought my Filson stuff almost 10 years ago. The first couple inches of the sleeves are worn out on the coat I wear the most, frayed and torn up, but it's still holding it own as far as raingear for work. Well worth what I paid for it.
Like anything else, there are some things worth their retail price and there are some things that certainly aren't. |

Filson is the product of choice for outdoorsmen Just as Arc'Teryx is the product of choice for operators
Just as Snap-On is the product of choice for tool guys Even if they aren't really outdoorsmen, or real operators, or if they only use their tools for securing that fastener that holds a light switch bezel to the wall. |

Every thing they sell is overpriced and outdated. Eh, easy there, cowgirl. They make some damn good upland clothes and vests. You can go get some Dans gear for a fraction of the cost and it's more comfortable. |

I bought some of their stuff years ago. Still good stuff.
Filson upland vest I bought when I was in my 20's, actually found it at a Dicks Sporting goods on a closeout rack when they dropped the line their first year open in the area. Bought it for $30 IIRC. Cost a shitload more than that now. lol, for shits and grins I looked it up, now $195. A few years later I ordered a pair of tin pants and a pair of double tin chaps. The chaps I think cost me $60 now cost $185 Bought their Tin waterfowl hat. Wear it every winter still. I think it cost me $30 special order then. $85 now. I would not buy at their current prices unless I hit the lottery. Sadly when I first googled Filson clothing and clicked the first site it showed some pick of a hipster doofus wearing capris pants and some faggy trench coat. Even Danner boots has gone all hipster gay with their hiking boot designs. Pretty hard to find some non douchebag colors there now. Reminds me of the Adirondaks in the summer when the NYC/jersey clans arrive. |

Filson used to make great stuff. I have wool coat and vest made by Filson that date back to the mid 90's. Last year I looked at the exact same garments that are made by them today and it was laughable. The wool the use today is a lighter grade and does not do much to block the chill. |

Have a shirt that was given to me and my EDC briefcase / bag is filson.
I've had it for 3 years. It's outlived an eagle courier bag. Plus it looks fairly professional. Has room for either my EDC carry piece if for some reason I don't have it on my belt, plus reloads. Discretely too. |
