what is the most common distance in which a firefight occurs? I'm talking firefights in a warzone, not self-defense range. I was estimating about 50-100 yds, but I want to make sure i get it right. This is for a paper, BTW, so help is appreciated.

According the US Marines, IIRC it is under 100 yards. Should be able to google some Marine studies on the subject, IMO.
