I just watched it for the first time.
That's one f'd up movie. |

I ain't seen it yet. Is it as homo-Erotic as it looks? ![]() It's like an ink blot - you see in it what you want to. And I see a lot of you have been forgetting the first two rules of fight club. Besides which the first rule of project mayhem is you do not ask questions. |

Since I had read the book prior, and thus knew the ending, I never even noticed a "queer angle". Guess I should watch it again? Good movie. Wasn't quite the book, but what is? I have to completely disagree. I read the book, saw the movie, then re-read the book; in comparison, the book is really awful. If you listen to Uncle Chuck's commentary track on the DVD, he says as much. |

With that said, his goal when writing was to do a series of linked stories, none exceeding seven pages. He did accomplish that...and we got the movie, also. |

the director plays up the queer angle to keep you off-balance until the reveal. If you listen to the director's commentary tracks, he says that explicitly. This. Fight Club is a theatrical masterpiece. Easily one of the best acted and directed movies ever. Another poster mentioned that it is like an ink blot. I agree. If you are under 30, you'll miss a lot of the meaning of the movie. Basically the story of a man who undergoes a psychotic break due to living a 'dead-end' life. |

I first saw the movie at 26, I'm kickin on the door of 28 now and still get it, just like I did when I was 26 |

One of the few movies that is better than the book. Oops, broke the 1st rule! ![]() With a little of this on the side. |

What more do you need? Go watch the damn thing and your first assignment afterward is to get beat up this week. Lose. |

Was that extra dark, or was it me? |

I cannot speak about such things, even if I knew about such, which I don't. FC=OPSEC09 |

Parts of it I really liked. The whole part in the bar about Duvet covers was great. Why the hell do we know what a duvet cover is? Good social commentary about the excesses of consumerism. Trying to use 'things' to fill an empty life and all that.
And having worked for large corporations, the part about destroying corporate art was a hoot! |
