How does it take 3 days to go a quarter mile? FYI, the FedEx smart post facility is just a quarter mile outside of Humbe, TX which is where they say the package was 3 days ago.

Estimated delivery :
Mon 12/15/2014

It will take another 4 business days to get from Houston to Austin. Even the USPS could have lost it, replaced it and then delivered it before they are going to get here. The 3-4 deliveries that came FedEx seemed to crawl across the country.

If you need your buttplugs that urgently, perhaps NOT  wait until the busiest shipping time of the  year.

I was under the impression that Fedex only turned it over to the USPS once it go close to the final destination.

By utilizing the U.S. Postal Service® for final delivery, FedEx SmartPost reaches every U.S. address, including P.O. boxes and military APO, FPO and DPO destinations.

FedEx Smartpost is USPS, for delivery, which is why it sucks.

Also is typically transported via FedEx Ground, before being handed off to USPS, which again is not actually "FedEx".

The only 2 proper FedEx shipping groups are FedEx Express and FedEx Freight.

FedEx Ground drivers are not FedEx employees and are contractual, the only FedEx Ground employees that are actually FedEx employees are the handlers/managers of the handlers.

It is fucking USPS man, Fedex and UPS have cheaper services using USPS at the delivery end, and USPS fucks up everything.

LOL figures....

I've probably only used USPS twice and it was fine. UPS for 99% of my shipping and they are decent.

My Fed Ex guy called me this morning and asked if he could drop the package off at town (at a friend's place) or at my place. I told him my place (gate was opened for him).  Good service in small communities.

True. They usually show up in big trucks, and just toss stuff on the patio. Last time the guy actually put it by the door. I was shocked!
FedEx Express, or Air are the ones that come in Vans, with their logo. They are professional.
I never have a problem with UPS, either.
Living in the country, I have the same delivery guy. He's a good guy. He will put stuff inside my screened in porch if I'm not home.
He also gets 20 dollars at Christmas.
Don't think that that matters? It does!
Very small price to pay!
USPS?  My rural mail carrier is a dickhead. Hope he gets off my route.

I don't understand the derp of Fedex allying with the urgency and professionalism of the USPS.

If I'm paying for FedEx, I don't want my shit lost/destroyed by our "professional" mail carriers.

Stuff for the wife for Christmas. I just ordered it with 4 other things, all of which have been delivered. In fact I just ordered a cabinet (for reloading supplies) that is coming from California that will get here tomorrow.

Just venting....

If you paid for FedEx ground or FedEx Express, your shipment will not be handed off to the USPS.

Smartpost is the service where it's handed off. A lot of times, online retailers use this service to save money, but they aren't very upfront about it when you're checking out. The few times it has happened to me, it was advertised as free shipping.

Ground is usually only a couple dollars more, and if I don't see that option I shop somewhere else.

UPS has the same type of service, FYI.

Yep, the problem is that (like you said) retailers aren't upfront about it.

More and more of my Amazon orders are shipping USPS. They lost one of my Amazon Firestick TV orders for 7 days, it fell into a tracking black hole.

I bought ammo from a member here a few years ago, and it was due to be delivered on a Saturday. The seller emails me on Saturday afternoon asking how I like he ammo, since their website shows it as delivered. Here is no sign of my ammo so I start looking around, and then find my box laying in the bushes in front of my apartment. It was about the average distance someone could throw the box, if the driver merely slowed down and tossed it as he drove by.

Dumbasses...
