Well my son (4 yrs old) gone and did it. He pulled up a website that Mom was not too happy about.

(Not related to any of my surfing...)

Anyway, it sold Adult Novelties and we need something to be able to block his account from being able to access

some of this. We had downloaded the FireFox add-on but he must have seen my wife working on it and he knows how to disable it.

When he gets older I'll be in trouble - either that or he will work for the CIA.

Any ideas on favorite programs. I am currently using Vipre Antivirus, but they don't offer this type of program.

Yeah, that lasted for all of a day for my friend when we were younger. Just pulled some of the files it needed to run out of it's folder and into the recycle bin. I'm sure it's a little tougher now though.
ETA: We also guessed the password, after a little thinking.

Yes, how did you know?

Your son was able to figure out how to disable the add-on in firefox.

I would recommend OpenDNS

It is free and the filtering is based on the DNS server, so unless your son guesses your password for logging into your account on OpenDNS, he'll never get around it.

I was going to suggest a hardware firewall, then realized the kid could just do a hard reset.  OpenDNS is a great idea.

Thanks guys, I will give those a look.

I would rather buy something that someone has had experience with or recommends, than buy it myself

with my limited research. BTDT.

Another aside: I got home from work on Monday and my wife said that he took a CD out of the CD player, ripped

it to the computer and put it on his sisters MP3 player.  And he's 4!
