What weapon you used when deployed (or not) was your favorite when all factors are considered? Mine is the M2 .50 cal

I would add the M249 Para. That is one COMPACT, powerful weapon!

Well, I got out in 1990, but the M-60, then the M-14.

Hmm. No vote option for 'other, not US but not captured'

I really did like the FAL I was issued in Ireland. May not have been actually as good a combat rifle as the M-16, but it gave you such a wonderful feeling of solidity. Very likeable.

Second place goes for the FN-MAG (M240). The thing is an absolute blast, and effective too.

I'm assuming that the M256 isn't really in consideration on this poll.

Mk 19. The coolest crew served weapon (ok maybe the M134 is cooler) yet.

Amen to that brother!  I had mine back in 88 & 89.  Like you said, no frills, just gets the job done!

I guess thats why I keep my LMT simple and plain.  (plus Eothech)

I think us aviation guys are the only ones that still have M-60s.  We have the models with twin grips and butterfly trigger.  I can't remember the letter.

I was a Medic, and my first weapon was a 1911 made by Ithica. I could not miss with that sidearm. I ended up with the M-9, and a M16A2. Assigned to a Mort Plt, I started out helping "Cut cheese" with a 4-duce, and was allowed to Hang and drop rounds. But after we transitioned to the 120's that was where it was at!.

So my sidearm of choice was the 1911, but for the big stuff I loved hanging/dropping rounds in the 120 mort. ( even if I was not supposed to)

My second choice was when I got to sneak into the loaders position in a M60 tank during tank table 8. ( Those guys work their ass's off!)

Being a Medic was very cool, because I got to play with all of the cool toys.

I was a 60 gunner in the storm.  I love that weapon and respect every straight leg or airborne
guy who humped one of those bad boys.  I was gunner on a humvee so the only time I walked
any distance was to and from the range on the ramp up to Desert Shield/Storm.  As for
now I have a DPMS LR 308 AP4 that I love.  Couldnt part with 7.62.
