That movie is actually closely related to the Kirosawa movie Seven Samurai, check it out some time.

The DEA/SWAT raiding Leons apartment in "The Professional".

Star Wars, when they rescue the Princess.

Heat, BHD, Beh...We expect those.

A few good ones in Starship Troopers as well.

ETA:

One of my fav's...

The Casino Robbery or the Ending of 3000 Miles to Graceland.

Also the way 'Top' cleared the 737 in "The Unit"---That was awesome

+1 I can't believe I forgot about the Wild Bunch! What a great movie. Ernest Borgnine's last good movie.
Link Posted: 3/9/2006 12:07:46 PM EST
I can't believe nobody has mentioned the gunfights in 'Way of the Gun' yet.
Link Posted: 3/9/2006 12:10:07 PM EST
Don't we already have this thread in the movie forum?

scarface: right after tony says "say hello to my little friend"--until he's dead

predator: when the whole squad opens fire into the jungle

heat: of course

Link Posted: 3/9/2006 12:11:53 PM EST
Add "Outlaw Josey Wales" to the list. Of course, I pretty much love ANY western that actually takes the time to get the guns right. Not everyone used a Colt Peacemaker and a Winchester 1873.

The Apple dumpling gang..when Don Knotts goes postal!
Link Posted: 3/9/2006 12:18:03 PM EST
The way of the GUN baby -- when all the bagmen show up with their .38s and shotguns. That movie was sick!

Boondock Saints
Way of the Gun
Link Posted: 3/9/2006 12:27:08 PM EST
Saving Private Ryan, the fight at the end.
Link Posted: 3/9/2006 12:28:31 PM EST
The gun fight in the Good, the BAd and the Ugly, at the cemetary at the end.

The duel between Doc Holliday and Johnny Ringo in "Tombstone"

The all time best gun fight was between Shane and Wilson in the movie "Shane".
Link Posted: 3/9/2006 12:39:58 PM EST
I like all the ones mentioned.

Add the gunfight at the end of Unforgiven to the list.
Link Posted: 3/9/2006 12:52:51 PM EST
+1 to the MAtrix lobby scene.

My favorite beyond that, though, is the scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark.

<swish> <swish> <BANG!>

Indy vs. Arab-who-brought-a-knife-to-a-gun-fight.

Indy: 1
AWBAKTAGF: 0

That was on today and I have it on DVD.
Killer flick.

I also liked the gunfights in Equilibrium.
Link Posted: 3/9/2006 1:27:06 PM EST
All three big scenes in Heat
The last scene in Way of the Gun
The alley and club scenes in Collateral
Link Posted: 3/9/2006 1:30:25 PM EST
Was the alley scene in with Tom "Yo, Homie" Cruise a gun fight? I thought he just capped them both when they made a move. It was him owning them, not really a 'gun fight'. Still props to him, great movie.

I like the .22 x3 to the head btw....
Link Posted: 3/9/2006 1:31:46 PM EST

Link Posted: 3/9/2006 1:36:09 PM EST
I guess all you guys are too young.

Best by far is William Holden in "The Wild Bunch"
Link Posted: 3/9/2006 1:37:02 PM EST
not really a movie and I don't know if many of you have seen it but the final fight between Vash and Knives has some of the coolest gun play ever thought up.

Actual movie... I'd say the boondock saints one where they square off against their father. The reenactment is hilarious...
Link Posted: 3/9/2006 1:38:01 PM EST
I also like the one in the movie real men where Jim Belushi uses a nail gun and John Ritter yells bang pointing his finger at people.
Link Posted: 3/9/2006 1:38:35 PM EST
WotG
Hardboiled
The Killer
Better Tomorrow 1 & 2
Matrix
Private Ryan

Link Posted: 3/9/2006 1:39:08 PM EST
Tombstone

"I see a red sash I kill the man wearing it"
Link Posted: 3/9/2006 1:41:03 PM EST
definitly HEAT, and Black Hawk Down...

honorable mention for Terminator 2 when Arnold hoses down LA's finest with a minigun, although points were taken off for not actually killing anybody
