Is the first step on the road to disappointment.

I know, I'll go shooting today.  Turned the house upside down.  Twice.  No gun case anywhere, so no shooting trip.

"Ring ring"
I answer the phone, "hello".
"This is the fun store." Pause...............................................................................
"Is my shell holder in?"
"Yes."
I drive over.  It's the wrong one.  AGAIN.
"I'll get on my supplier and make this right," gives me an earnest look.  Been waiting for months.
What could go wrong?  Third times the charm?  Yeaaaaaah, riiiiiight.  fuck it.

To improve my mood, I head to walmart to check the ammo case .  I see Old Gun Counter Guy, and skillfully buttonhole him:
"I haven't seen any .22 in a year and a half," I say, and give him a pathetically naive look, hoping the beans spill. "What's going on with it?  When does it come in, do you ever get new shipments, [woe is me]?"
He pauses for a few long moments, choosing his words, and then blurts out, "if I told you, I'd have to kill you."
Nice, so he is in on the neckbearding.
More playing dumb on both our parts ensues.  Or maybe I'm not acting.  Whatever.
Feeling guilty, he blurts out, "we had some in on Wednesday.  But it sells out immediately, even w/ the 3 box limit."
I faintly smile and bid him adieu. Merde.  What did they say about swearing in French in The Matrix?

Fine.  I recalled looked at the ammo and gunpowder selection at the Fun Store:
Silver Bear steel jacketed 7.62x39 is $10/box.  The x54R stuff is also steel jacketed, but goes for $15/box.  Nice.  You can't even legally shoot it on BLM land, and that's all he's got.  But he's got lots.  I don't complain or inform him.  Can't decide if I'm too chicken for a trivial gunstore know it all confrontation, or some latent manners have made their untimely appearance.  The difference is purely academic to me at this stage.

He does have in some weird Norma powders, in the small rectangular cans for $40/lb.  Primers are $5/100  No domestic powders, whatsoever.  There are rumors that IMR may appear one day.  I'm not falling for that. Yet.
OK, I am.
WHEEEeeeeeeeeee.
