The F-22 encountered a problem crossing the international date line. Sort of makes you appreciate the whole manual-everything approach. Link Sorry if it's a dupe - I hadn't seen it here yet. |
It is, but I got no replies to my thread. ![]() www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=1&f=5&t=547022 |

I'm not really sure the problem had to do with the international date line, I suppose it could be but it's really just conjecture at this point. I do like the photos of the 22 with the drop tanks, that's the first time I've seen them. I'm kind of surprised they couldn't just follow a tanker and complete the trip on time. That makes me think the software glitch was just a little more than navigation related. Of course, it's also not the first time some planes (and pilots) have a 'forced' delay in Hawaii |
Software Bugs can be very serious for a list of interesting bugs see: wwwzenger.informatik.tu-muenchen.de/persons/huckle/bugse.html#party Military Systems are becoming increasingly more complicated and software intensive. The rates of failure due to Software errors will increase in the future. |
