Never had an issue with group texts Which is unfortunate because they're annoying. Some I get some I don't. Not sure about sending them, but we are selling our house and the relitor is sending my wife and I group messages for show times, but haven't gotten a single one yet. |

Not a problem sending them. Phone will not receive them from an iPhone Quoted:

I've never had problems sending group messages. Sounds like OP doesn't know how to work his phone... Not a problem sending them. Phone will not receive them from an iPhone That's Apple. Anyone with an iPhone that had your number before you switched is still sending them to your iMessage address. This has been happening for four years now. The fix has to be intentionally neglected at this point. |

Much like the government's solution to the problems government causes, is more government. |

I don't know specifics about how messages work either but I send and receive group texts from and to Android and iPhones, and mixes therein, all the time with no issues. Im on Android. So OP, maybe it's something you're doing, or your phone? |

You can use your iMessage ID from an iPad or iMac. Its also a point of retention when people attempt to leave and think their new phone is broken. |

I can do that with Skype and not be tied to a single device manufacturer, and also communicate using the same app with people on any platform. I stand by iMessage being dumb. |

Google Hangouts is another alternative. So is email. The options are there. iMessage is just built in and easy. The part that makes it seamless (automatically getting someone's iMessage token) is the part that makes it hard to ditch... They won't automatically detect the token is gone. YOU know better. Most folks don't. ETA: This is a pet peeve of mine. I use a 3 year old Android phone. Somehow, people at my office know to ask me why their new one won't work. It always ends with a call to Apple. It used to be a password reset was enough. |

Went through the same issue when my gf switched to an Android phone. You need to remove your device from the iTunes setup or something. I don't remember exactly how to do it. ETA: See it's been covered.
Fuck Apple. They intentionally chose not to fix this problem |
| My first and only smartphone is the iPhone5 that I have now, which I got 2 years ago. Haven't had the chance to give any other platform a try, but I know far too many people switching back to iPhones that I don't plan to upgrade to android. My group chats don't change when I'm talking to people with android devices, but just the mere fact that it's in green color to show a text instead of iChat, annoys me for some reason. |

Funny I was about to start the opposite thread...
fuck this POS iPhone that is made for the mentally retarded. Fuck your lack of a back button, and your general lack of buttons. I dont want your fucking AIDSware on my computer just to move shit on and off the phone and that fact that any shitty ass company protects basic access to a filesytem on their device is a sign of severe brain damage, and really... no SD card slot for extra memory who's the dog fucker that made that decision, I hope he dies of cancer...oh wait. The only reason I havent smashed this thing to pieces with a hammer is because its free and my work paid for it. My several year old Droid Razr Maxx was light years ahead of this thing and after having it for years and using it daily the battery still runs circles around this shitty iTurd. |

Might be there for some reason with notifications turned off. |
