Thanks everyone
Once again the 82nd has made a name for itself, I guess we will now be reffered as Americas Hurricane reaction force The real thanks belongs to all the guys who were wading in knee deep water, riding in boats picking up stranded folks and landing helicopters full of water and hay for stranded Cows/animals. Wow! I'm going to have to get me one of those. I'm on my third $500 Canon Powershot in as many years. They don't stand up well to being hauled around in your pocket. Extended warranty covered them all, but it's still a pain in the ass to have it replaced. Thanks! |

Sweet! good to see a 82nd trooper with the greatest flash in division! |

Riding around in a Zodiac boat while wearing the maroon beret kinda sucked. The sun was beating down and those boats get HOT. I wish I had gotten to fly around in a blackhawk. I got to help a lot of people and see NO for the first time. I am looking foreward to going back for Mardi Gras (the NOPD offered room and board to any 82nd soldier that was down there for the releif work). I got e-mail addresses from people my unit rescued and local authorities (fire/police) we helped out (took them in a boat to see their house) so I am interested to see if they keep their promise. I was wondering if there were any other ar15.comers down there with me.

Pics work fine for me.
The woman in the first pic looks like she is talking to herself, or thin air. |

I think I walked right thru your perimeter on the DZ earlier this year. I think it was Sicily back in January. I got back from NO on friday morning. We had a patrol base at a terminal right next to where the Iwo Jima was docked. We just did patrols around downtown NO... of course the restrictions put on us made us nothing more than a neighborhood watch with berets on. We caught a looter the first day out.. so I guess it wasn't all for nothing. |

Thanks for sharing pics of the US Military's latest urban warfare facilities. It can even simulate flooding!
