Ruger is running a design contest for a 10/22.  One of our Appleseed instructors' design is in the top ten.  Please help support Appleseed and vote for his design. It's not sexy, but it's a practical design.  It is ideal for Appleseed, CMP, or similar shooting activities.

Please click here and vote for the design by Gary - Michigan

Thanks!!

FRICKIN' BUMP!

Not only is Gary's (Appleseed) idea better, Chris's "design" is little more than a copy of a type they've already produced.

...I mean I like the take-down concept and all, but it's ALREADY OUT THERE.

As far as I know they don't make a wood stocked Take Down. Otherwise I would have bought one .

Still voted for Gary though, that rifle looks like it would be awesome.

If I bought Garys design it would be to set that shitty looking stock on fire. I like it other than the stock which is easily replaced. I voted.

Alright, fair enough.

I still think people put too much (sentimental) value on having a wood stock, though.

Same. I bought the "tacticals" for my twins & am putting tech sights on them. I was kind of surprised they didn't have a model with peeps/rail/threaded barrel already.

I do like Gary's the best due to the sights and threaded barrel.

Not sure about that stock though. I think I'd prefer the laminate stock.

Placeholder for a suppressor. Sucks having to spend the price of the rifle just to thread the barrel and relocate the front sight.

It's the interchangeable stock on the American.  I like it.

Voted.

If they make that, I'll buy one. That setup would be awesome with an optic on a QD mount up top.

Is it possible to prove that it has no affect on suppressing sound or flash and have it classified as a crown protector?

Ruger would probably make a ban state version anyway, I still like the two barrel take down better

It's not dopey for people who use them as thread protectors when they aren't using a suppressor.

So it's a 10/22 with an American Rimfire stock, tech sights, and an ugly flash supressor?

I guess it's the only one of the 10 choices that I could see Ruger actually making though.

The only reason he put it on there is to function as a crown protector.  At Appleseeds, we have a lot of shooters drill their muzzles into the ground as they're first getting used to getting into the prone position.  The flash suppressor was straight out of the Ruger parts bin as a simple but effective way to achieve that end.

Thanks to everyone who voted for Gary.  He's in the lead - let's help keep him there!

Thanks to everyone that voted.  We're looking forward to seeing Ruger product an Appleseed Liberty Training Rifle.

Add that with the Marlin 795LTR, and we have two out of three.  Remington is next with their 597.
