Found this after hearing about it on talk radio in the early hours.
"Agents for Britain’s MI5 intelligence service have discovered that Muslim doctors trained at some of Britain’s leading teaching hospitals have returned to their own countries to fit surgical implants filled with explosives, according to a report from Joseph Farah’s G2 Bulletin. Women suicide bombers recruited by al-Qaida are known to have had the explosives inserted in their breasts under techniques similar to breast enhancing surgery. The lethal explosives – usually PETN (pentaerythritol Tetrabitrate) – are inserted during the operation inside the plastic shapes. The breast is then sewn up. “Properly inserted the implant would be virtually impossible to detect by the usual airport scanning machines. You would need to subject a suspect to a sophisticated X-ray. Given that the explosive would be inserted in a sealed plastic sachet, and would be a small amount, would make it all the more impossible to spot it with the usual body scanner.” |

Can you imagine what going to happen when AQ gets access to some Nation Of Islam American Welfare Moms? They are going to be able to smuggle ten or 20 pounds of PETN anywhere they want with impunity. Sounds sort of funny, but It's no laughing matter.
I hope this isn't an Opsec breach, but I'm sure they already have though of it. |

I've always been amazed that they weren't trying to smuggle explosives on with prosthetics and wheelchairs. Then again, the easiest way to sow terror in the US is IEDs in shopping malls and grocery store parking lots. Toss in a few C-Store cups filled with nails and explosives with mercury switches scattered across urban areas and outside gyms and you have a recipe for people to button down and not leave the house. /shrug. It does seem a bit keystone cops to keep at the airlines when you can walk across the Mexico border and sow real damage to the US infrastructure. |

The Flaming Ball of Wreckage over a major city make for better news coverage, plus there are potential for secondary damage and loss of life. They want resignation & withdrawal, not rage & indignation. 2) Seeing as how everything they've done to this date, has been done without illegally crossing any borders, Mexico is simply too much risk compared to their current MO. As long as they can get people in WITH documentation (which they have had ZERO trouble with so far) they won't even look at an illegal border crossing. And if they do, it's Canada, not Mexico, that has the easiest immigration/visa process from the Middle East & Stans.... There's also far less security on the Canadian border, than there is on the Mexican one. |

A surgically implanted bomb can't be initiated wit a cigarette lighter (vis-a-vis shoe bomber), it would require an radio-based electronic trigger. Now, this would piss off all the little girls who don't listen to the flight attendants & turn off their phones (because they wouldn't be able to get a cell signal in the terminal waiting area or on the plane).... But it would prevent a 'boobie bomber' from being able to activate her explosives (or a male 'belly bomber', vis-a-vis Dark Knight).... Of course, nothing will be done until someone tries to use a surgically implanted bomb... |
